Default Making Myself Clear

SOMEONE COMMENTED IN ANOTHER THREAD,''ALEX IS ONENESS".

I JUST WANT TO MAKE IT CLEAR I DO NOT BELONG TO ANY TYPE OF GENTILE CHURCH, IAM A JEW WHO BELIEVES IN CHRIST AS MY SAVIOR ,I DO NOT SUBSCRIBE TO ANY CHURCH DOGMA.

WHAT I BELIEVE OF GOD IS BECAUSE IT IS WRITTEN IN THE WORD, THAT IS IN MY HEBREW SCRITURES, THE 'SHEMA' OF ISRAEL ESTATES GOD IS ONE AND THERE IS NO OTHER GOD BESIDES HIM, IT ALSO ESTATES YHWV IS THE ONLY SAVIOR, THIS WE LEARN FROM VERY LITTLE IN HEBREW SCHOOL, AND THIS WE BELIEVE UNTIL THE DAY WE DIE.
iF THE ONENESS PEOPLE BELIEVE WHAT THE WORD SAYS THEN MORE POWER TO THEM.

AS FAR AS BELIEVING JESUS IS GOD THAT IS A CHRISTIAN TEACHING BASED ON THE BRIT HADASSHAD( NEW TESTAMENT) SO I BELIEVE THAT ALSO.

SO IAM A COMPLETED JEW, ONE WHO HAS FOUND HIS MESSIAH.

AS FAR AS BAPTISING IN THE NAME OF JESUS ONLY, I DO NOT SUBSCRIBED TO THAT, AS THE WORD SAYS "BAPTISE THEM IN THE NAME OF THE FATHER THE SON AND THE HOLY SPIRIT".

SO DON'T PUT ME IN ANY OTHER CATEGORY BUT WHAT IAM. THANK YOU.
SHALOM

I'm curious and surprised at your perspective on this.

Mat 28:19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

As for myself, I don't see Christ saying to use these words as a formula, but rather to baptize them in the "name". From my perspective, the "titles" Father, Son, and Holy Ghost describes Gods relationship to humanity and are not the supreme saving name described here . .namely, Yeshua/Jesus. Then in every scripture that portrays an actual baptism, we see that everyone was apparently baptized in the name of Jesus/Yeshua?
Many historical sources say that the early christian church did not use a threefold baptismal formula but invoked the name of Jesus in baptism well into the 2nd and 3rd centuries.
If your interested check out: Encyclopedia of Religion and Ethics, Interpreters Dictionary of the bible, A History Of Christian Thought, Hastings Dictionary Of The Bible, A History Of The Christian Church, The New Schaff-Herzog Encyclopedia Of Religious Knowledge, Canneys Encyclopedia Of Religions, Encyclopedia Biblica, Encyclopedia Britannica 11th Ed.
I'm not of a mind to debate your take on it . . .however this is a point I make in the one God/ three God discussions and have yet to recieve a reply answering as to why in light of Mathew 28:19 every illustration of a baptism seems to be in Jesus name in the scriptures.

Also Alex, as far as I know "Oneness" is not a denomination, but simply a numerical belief that God is one .

Acts 2:36-38

[36] Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ.
[37] Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?
[38] Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Well Leaf, you know we Jews invented legalism LOL.

So if the word says in the name of The Father The son And the Holy Ghost , we will do it that way.
Through the thousands of years we have being practicing God's word we have learned not to take even a Yod in vain , so forgive me if I continue to baptise in the name of the Father the son and the Holy Spirit, although they are one and the same,Capish ?.

If I did it as you say then I would be oneness ,group or sect or whatever, Shalom

I'm the one you're referring to Alex. I'm sorry if I offended you with my statement about oneness. Like Mac said, it's not a denomination, just a belief in God being one, notthree seperate entitities. From all you've said, I thought you were of that belief. Please accept my aplogy.

So, in other words.....you're a Christian.

I would only be concerned if you claimed to be a Jehovah's Witness or Morman.
