Default Anyone else see "End of the Spear?"

At the movies, currently playing.

I hadn't heard anything about it until my wife told me. It's the true story of the missionary group that Jim Elliot was in going to Ecuador and being killed by the tribesmen there . . . and what happened after that. Even though it's about Jim Elliot's group, the story doesn't center on him. It's more about the pilot and others and what happened following their terrible murders.

We went yesterday. It may not be the best movie you'll ever see, but it was very interesting and moving and worth seeing. Just lettin' y'all know in case you wanted to see it while it's in the theatres.

I rarely go to the movies, but I plan on seeing that one soon... Course, there are hogs out there that need killing, and I might have to wait till it's on pay per view.

We went opening night-- awesome movie!! Half of the money you spend on a ticket goes to the mission cause. I urge everybody to go see it. You can get a clip of the movie at www.endofthespear.com

I wish I could go after some hogs. I've been helping people to avoid deer/car collisions around these parts!

This is a terrific movie and it will move you as you see the devotion these people had to serve our awesome Creator God. I also appreciated the fact that half the monies goes to furthering the missionary work there. Additionally, the more people that go sends another reminder to Hollywood that Christians want to see Christian movies.

It doesn't bother you that the leading actor in this movie is openly gay?

UNDATED Religious conservatives are speaking out against a movie that was produced by an Oklahoma City company because its lead actor has advocated for gay causes.
"End of the Spear" is a film that tells the true story of bush pilot Nate Saint, who was killed along with four other missionaries in Ecuador by tribesmen they were trying to evangelize.

The movie stars Chad Allen, whom protesters say is not only gay but has advocated same-sex marriages and adoptions and has starred in a stage play about a gay Jesus figure.
