hey guys and gals, havent been around lately, have been very busy with work and a little micro-vacation (gatlinburg), just wanted everybody to know i was back and around, and will be trying to get caught up on all the reading and going ons, Christmas and new years were great, got a 1894 marlin in 41 mag. for Christmas, and my wife is happy with here gifts, hunted a little, watched a nice 8 for about 30 minutes one day, several times i thought about shooting him, and then i remebered the property owners young son who has not killed but a few deer and decided to give him (the deer)and the young man another chance, to date they have not seen him, but i have a feeling he will have a shot, as right now is our best time of the season, i will be back soon, God bless you all.....

reb didn't make it to the knife factory, we spent a day in maggie valley, a day in cades cove, and then in piegeon forge and gat. it was a great trip as always, a little warm though
chuck i'm in bama, i know you get me and motown/ chris mixed up, but i have a real soft spot for people who have not killed very many or no deer, i feel the good Lord has blessed me far greater than i deserve, and there is no greater feeling than someone killing their best deer ever, i share the joy just as much as them, here is a picture of my best friend and his son with the deer he killed last year, i ask how could this not make me just as proud of the whole hunt as if i had killed the deer myself, that smile is priceless, BTW it was with your choice of guns, a 336 marlin in 30-30
i shot, you will get your deer, its gonna happen, when it does i hope its a dandy

Keith,
I love the way you don't get mad when I get you and Chris mixed up. Why do I do that. I've ask God to help me. Do you both have the same signature .Is that you in the picture with the little boy? You know your one of my favorites don't ya. You've seen me in my thin and thick and have hung in there with me.A true friend. If your ever in my neck of the woods and don't stop in I will be very offended.

Yep! I go to Maggie twice a year. In the summer and then again in the fall. My wife's family live in Maggie,Waynesville,Canton and Asheville. My wife was born in Brevard, NC. just on the other side of the Pigah Forrest. In October we went to eat at the Pisgah Inn that's on top of the mountain in Pisgah Forrest.
Kieth, one of my wifes cousin has an Indian gift shoppe in Cherokee. When you are going from Maggie to Cherokee thru Soko Gap and just asyouenter the reservation and travel a few miles, you'll come to Bear Meats Gift Shoppe.
That's a fine picture you got there!

Yes I will get one, but it will have to be next year. Season is out here. I had a bad season, no kills, but I only got to go hunting a handful of times. No sweat, makes me look forward to next year.
Reb, my folks live in Clyde, right near Waynesville. I like that area.
