Default Snake handlers?

Anybody here belong to a congregation that incorporates snake handling into their services?

Well we will cut their heads off if they slip under the door and send all of our women standing up in the pews. Is that what you meant?

Bro.,here in Fla. we had Ross Allen, the best snake handler in the world and he was bitten many, many times and did not die! Was it the Holy Spirit in him? Was he immuned to the venom? Was it God showing us proof to the rest of us to be a believer? etc.,etc,etc.
If a person put a gun to your head and told you to curse Christ or he is going to kill you if you don't, are you going to do it?

Snake handlers are almost always charismatic or pentecostal. I'm a pentecostal. But I'm not one for pushing luck or tempting fate either. God's given me enough common sense to know not to play around with "fire." They are in an extreme minority. I'm talking...EXTREME minority. Of course, they make the best news headlines.

I'm not gonna go around handling venomous snakes, because what if I actually did get bit and die? I'm not gonna walk across a busy intersection without looking both ways first, and i'm not gonna put a bullet in a gun, spin it, and trust in God that the bullet isn't in the chamber.

I've been known to handle snakes, normally with the heel of my boot, a hoe, a shovel, sometimes an arrow.. Am I a believer? Yes, I believe that if that snake gets close enough to me, it's going to bite me. Yes, I've been known to speak in tongues, but normally not when handling snakes.

Yep! That would make me speak in Spanglish and I'm a baptist!
