Default clean mouth?

First post in this forum so hello to all. I have a question for you all, my name is Jason and I would consider myself a good christian. I go to church faithfully every other sunday ( work swing shift so I work every other weekend) pay my tithes faithfully, and support the church whenever I can. My wife is just as involved as I am. Most of all I know that I am saved by the blood of Jesus and asked him into my life a long time ago and I know that he loves me and lives in and with me. My question is that sometimes I find my self using bad words sometimes. Not like in harsh ways towards people but like spill something and say o s**t, little things like that. then on sunday when I go to church I feel like I lied all week. Does bad words make you lukewarm in him?

Pray for God to help you in that area. I promise He will.

I've never had a problem with cussing. I was always tempted in other areas...but there are verses on the tongue in the Bible.

It reflects a man's heart. Sounds like you are willingly trying hard to follow after Christ. Stay in His Word and ask him for help, and I bet you won't have your cussing problem much longer.

Having a clean mouth, whether it's cussing, or gossip, or crude jokes etc., is one of the biggest standouts in the "world". Non-Christians notice...and it's a great witness.

"then on sunday when I go to church I feel like I lied all week.

My friend...that is good ole conviction. Thank God that He loves you and desires to conform you to Christ. You don't need to beat yourself up though....confess your sins and He is faithful to forgive them. In your prayer closet ask God to help you in that area. The work of the Holy Spirit is to convict us of sin. God's Spirit is doing His job. We all have areas we are working on brother.
God bless you ,
I appreciate your humility,
Chuck7"

Welcome Jason!
Brother, have you the courage to go foward and confess to the Lord and ask Him to help you, when the Pastor calls the invitation at the church you attend?

Accept the invitation, it will do you wonders, you'll be surprized of what it can do for you!

All good advice... It's great to know that when we mess up God is there to correct us and put us back in line.
I have not doubt that your feelings are God's conviction, and He is simply pointing out things that are displeasing unto Him. I would worry if I did something wrong and felt absolutely nothing. God is just showing you what He want's you to repent of.

Amen Rev

A sad day indeed when we no longer feel convicted of our sins.

Welcome to the site Hotburn! As you can see you can get great advice on this site. Not a whole lot I could add, but for myself I have an accountability partner that helps keep me on track. And I do the same for him.As you know, iron sharpens iron!
