I was doing some thinking the other day. You know how we have God and the Bible? Other religions have their own "god" and some book they try to follow. My question is; How do you know which one is right? what if you die and you get to the "other side" and its buda and he saying "You ignored me when i was trying to talk to you now you will gohell" or where ever budist say they go if they are bad. I believe in God but its just a scary thought to think about. About which one is the "right" one.
Well, that's why we call it faith. Believing in something one cannot see surely must be faith. I don't know why the others believe how they do, but I can tell you like others on this forum, I heard direcly from God. Chuck7 saw Jesus, and I believe we all had a personal encounter some way or the other.
I really believe that if you seek, you will find. If you aks God to reveal Himself to you, He will.
Browse around my website, www.poweroffaith.us just look around the differnt things I have there. I also have a section exposing the cults (False religions).
Like Rev said...none of us "know" for sure. We have to believe in faith. I personally, do "know" for sure that Jesus is the way. I know it in my heart and in my head.
Honestly, if I live my whole life and die, and the whole God/Jesus/Christianity thing wasa big scam, then I have lost nothing.
If I die without believing/living for Christ and when I die, find out that Christianity actually wasthe true/one religion, than all is lost.

Yesterday was my 1st day. lost 6..
I'm eating fruits and vegtables and 1 meal { No seconds} No coffee , tea or sodas. I did this before. It works. After a while when the energy comes I'll feel like exercising again. I like playing tennis , hiking and biking. I'm excited about what God is doing. The ultimate strenghth and will power{ Temperance } is from Him. He is Lord.

Pray a prayer like this:
"God, if you are real, show me. If you really exist, I want to know before it is too late."
No one else needs to know if you prayed such a prayer. If there is no God, then He can't respond to any prayer. If He exists, He will show you in a way that is convincing to you.
But really, people who suppress the truth about God are without excuse. The Bible says that God has placed eternity in the hearts of the sons of men(Ecclesiastes 3:11). You have an intuitive knowledge in your heartthat there is "something out there" and that when you die you will still exist somehow - and not just as a memory or idea. Right now you may believe in your mind and with part of your heart that you have well-grounded scientific or other reasons to deny the reality of your eternal existence, but God has made sure that something in you knows that this is not the truth.
The Bible says that, "what may be known of God is manifest in them [i.e. you and all thinking people], for God has shown it to them [to you too!]. For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they [you] are without excuse." (Romans 1:19, 20)

Live Life in such a way that those who do not know Christ will come to know Him because they know you
I may be different than some here.I believe God comes to you. Unless you reject him or don't make a effort to understand you will as they say "See the light"
If you have been thinking about him don't paint yourself in a corner and reject him.
Denny ,
Very good point.I may be different than some here.I believe God comes to you.
As the old hymn says.."I once was lost bu tnow I'm found..was blind but now I see." For Grace hath taught my heart to fear and grace my fears believed.

For myself, I know because of His indwelling Spirit. There have been many things that I have had faith in that proved false, but His words has proved itself to me.
On another note Christ had to of rose from the dead in order for Him to be who He said He was. The bible says that hundreds saw Him after the resurrection. Historically recorded, folk must have been impressed enough with his authenticity to face horrible death at the hands of the Romans.
Also interesting is that first-century historians and other writers of that time period have provided us with further information about the Resurrection, whether directly or indirectly. Here are some examples:
o Flavius Josephus (Jewish historian), The Antiquities of the Jews (93 A.D.), book 18, chapter 3, paragraph 3.
o Pliny the Younger (Plinius Secundus), Epistles (112 A.D.), volume 10, p.96, in a letter written to emperor Trajan concerning the Christians in Pliny's province (he was the governor of Bithynia in Asia Minor at the time).
o Emperor Trajan's reply to Pliny's letter, recorded in Pliny's Epistles, volume 10, p. 97
o Cornelius Tacitus (senator under the reign of Vespasian and governor of AsiaAnnals (116 A.D.), volume 15, p.44. from 112-113 A.D.),
o Eusebius recorded in The History of the Church, volume 4, p.9, a letter from emperor Hadrian (who reigned from 117-138 A.D.) to Minucius Fundanus (governor of Asia) giving advice on handling charges against Christians.
oSuetonius (Roman historian), Life of Claudius (120 A.D.), volume 25, p.4.
oSuetonius, Life of Nero, p.16.
o Lucian of Samosata (Greek satirist), The Death of Peregrine (170 A.D.), p.11-13.
o Lucian of Samosata, Alexander the False Prophet, sections 25 and 29.
These writings are significant because none of these people were Christians. They did not believe that Jesus was the Messiah and they did not believe in the Resurrection, they were simply recording the facts. Many of these references give historical proof that Christians in the first and second centuries were willing to suffer persecution, torture, and execution because of their certainty that Jesus rose from the dead.
