Coming from coal country and having half your family working in the mines, I think its a miracle from God those men were found alive. I just pray for the family of the 13th that didn't make it. I am not too fimiluar with deep well mines, but amazing they found the air for two days.
DaveH from my understanding of situations like this, it is a true miracle that even one made it! The air in the mine was horrible the whole time and they only had 7 hours of air in thier tanks. My heart and prayers go out to all the families of those that were lost and my voice sings praises to God for the one that made it.

I wish that I could say something that would make this tragedy less painful to those families involved. I do know that God is faithful, and that He is in control, even in times that are dark and difficult. He will be with those that lost loved ones, and He was with them in this time as these men spent their final hours on this earth.
This is just about the most heartbreaking thing I have seen. I can't believe it went down like this. How could they mess up the communication like this. I stayed up until 1AM last night watching in joy. And wake up to this with tears of sorrow.
I grew up not too far from there. All my family is in the mine business one way or another. And let me tell you, things like this are really hard on these small towns. It really rocks the community. Its still so fresh in my memory of things like this happening when I was a little boy.
God is Great, but he is a soverign God and if we could understand him, he wouldn't be much of a God. I hope and pray that the people of that town don't turn away from God and this will help them come closer understanding that we have no promise of tomorrow.
