Default Do you care for God's temple?

When I say "God's Temple," I'm referring to your body.

Since many people start dieting and exercising with the beginning of a New Year, I thought it might be appropriate to see how many of you take care of yourselves physically and what regiment you follow.

Beginning tomorrow, I'll increase my water intake and cut back significantly on all the stuff (junk) I've been consuming since Thanksgiving. My exercise program will have a goal of 5 days per week lifting and running a couple miles 3 - 4 days a week.

The diet will tighten further following the SuperBowl. I KNOW I'll be eatting chips and junk while the playoffs are on. Go Skins!

I agree brother Dave. I believe some of God's temples are in need of paint, dusting, and throwing out some trash.

I wholly agree with that Bro. Rev. and we have access to the greatest cleanser of all, Jesus Christ..the bible says,"And the blood of Jesus Christ His Son, cleanseth us from all sin." 1 Jorn 1:7

What a wonderful Saviour, Amen..

I agree, but would add that some wear far to much "paint"

Dave one of the worst things you can do if your main concern is weight is to eat at the end of the day. Besides that I find that even after a 3-day fast (even if its a one-meal or milkshake fast...doesn't have to be water) it's very easy to view food as simply a means to sustain yourself, not something to enjoy. Once you can key in on this type of mentality diets are really easy to follow. I'm not saying it wrong to enjoy food at all!!! But it sure makes keeping things in check alot easier.

Amen Dave...

Here is mine for 2006

Nothing but King James Bible in my truck CD player.
Only fruit or veg. to dinner time. { Goal..one serving at dinner , that is tough}
No sweets coffee , tea or sodas

Exercise will come in time when my left knee is feeling better. Last week I tripped over a tree while hunting and bruised it pretty bad. I can't step as high as I used to step. I thought I cleared a branch and went flying . I threw my 30-30 forward and need to reshoot to see if it's still sighted in. My running days are over my friend. It's walking or biking.
Love ya,
Chuck7
PS Don't forget the inside of the temple too my brothers. That comes from obedience to God's Word. MAny have beautiful outside temples but God desires ....
1 Peter3:4 But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price.

Well my temple is in pretty bad shape due to a bad habit I have, I pray that one day I will be able to stop poisoning my self.

On a bright note I have convinced my wife to start taking daily walks with me, she needs to loose some weight and my prayers were answered when she finally agreed to start walking with me. She is really out of shape so right now our walks are for her alone, I can use the exercise, but to be honest I can walk all day long and not feel real tired.... how ever I did find out that mountains and I are not the best of friends!!!! Ask Brother Renfrow, it took me 2-3 days to get used to walking up and down them jokers!!!!

I usually do pretyy well in that department, but lately, since last June, have been pretty slack. I am going back to, not a diet, but a lifestyle that is consistent with good health, including weight training, running, cycling, and soccer. Then, there's the good eating habits , including, as Dave said, water and good chices and a 'little' self control.

Are you saying that some know how to apply make-up, and some just toss it up into the air and run under it?

Amen, bro. Snooky, too much paint, and in many cases not enough siding, we tend to see too much of the frame!
