Stuck in the Reeds

A very question.

The bible, in the Old Testament, tells the Hebrews which is a clean(allowable) food and which is un-clean(not allowed).

A number of the animals listed as allowable are wild animals. These animals were not domesticated, the only way to get them was hunting.

Nimrod is described in the bible as being a mighty warror and a mighty hunter.

I hope this helps.

Thanks
Mr-Pirk

Good Mr. Pirk,
I'd like to add a couple if I may.

1. Col.3:17 And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.
I see this as just that....whatever you do hunt , fish or cut the grass do it in a way that gives glory to God.AMEN!!!!!

2. Proverbs 12:27 The slothful{ lazy}man roasteth not that which he took in hunting: but the substance of a diligent man is precious. Yes my venison is very precious to me. Thanks Strut for a wonderful time in Missouri.

3.Gen.25:27 And the boys grew: and Esau was a cunning hunter, a man of the field; and Jacob was a plain man, dwelling in tents.
25:28 And Isaac loved Esau, because he did eat of his venison: but Rebekah loved Jacob.

And I love venison too. I wish I was a cunning hunter as well.

Genesis 9:3 * "Every moving thing that is alive shall be food for you; I give all to you, as I gave the green plant.

I liked the fact that Issac told Esau to take his bow and get him some venison.

Hunting is very much an approved practice according to scripture. Remember God Himself killed the first animals - to make clothing for Adam and Eve. God ordered animal sacrifices. Jesus ate meat and was sitting on the shore cooking fish which He later ate.

Thou shalt hunt the stag and the hart all of your days and I will bless you and make it fruitful.

Isn't that verse Leaf 5:3?

When killing animals, one must carefully discern the purpose and attitude. Is it truly for food? Or is it more for the sport or trophy? Keep in mind that animals are, after all, part of God"™s creation and, as such, should be treated with a certain amount of respect.

Gen 27:30 And it came to pass, as soon as Isaac had made an end of blessing Jacob, and Jacob was yet scarce gone out from the presence of Isaac his father, that Esau his brother came in from his hunting. [/align]
