Can Christians can have demons inside of them ?
This should be an interesting topic.
Some thoughts to consider..
When Peter was rebuked by Christ
Peter's letter telling us that we are in a war spirit and lust
James admonition to resist the devil
Matthew 12:43 When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest, and findeth none.
12:44 Then he saith, I will return into my house from whence I came out; and when he is come, he findeth it empty, swept, and garnished.
12:45 Then goeth he, and taketh with himself seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter in and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first. Even so shall it be also unto this wicked generation.
1 John3:8 He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.
3:9 Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.
3:10 In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother.
The Bible says, "He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world" (1st John 4:4). The Christian believer, by having the Holy Spirit within him, has power of all demons. When Jesus sent His apostles out on their mission, He said He was giving them authority (exousia) over all the power (dunamis) of the enemy (Luke 10:19). Jesus' authority is greater than satanic power. When the desciple said, "Lord even the demons are subject to us in Your name," Jesus replied, "do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rather rejoice because your names are wtitten in heaven." (Luke 10:17-20). The Christian believer has unlimited authority over demons in the name of Jesus. If a Christian has a demon, then that Christian has allowed that demon to say. I believe we are all influence and under constant attack from demons, but we have victory in the name of Jesus.
Rev,
First of all thanks for the reply. I'm not trying to start any problems but trying to solve some issues in my own theological mind. Let's look at your verse.
When the desciple said, "Lord even the demons are subject to us in Your name," Jesus replied, "do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rather rejoice because your names are wtitten in heaven." (Luke 10:17-20).
Rev...After this happens 2 things happen. Jesus tells Peter" Mt.16 16:23
But he turned, and said unto Peter, Get thee behind me, Satan: thou art an offence unto me: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but those that be of men.
I was also taught in Bible college that demons can't come into Christians. Judas was part of the crowd that was rejoicing in the verse you quoted. Later on we read and Satan entered in to Judas.
I hold to the view that we "Are being saved." James says
"and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls.
2 Cor.10:4 (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds
10:5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;
Where are these demonic strongholds according to God's Word?
In our own mind.
Hey you can go and get one if you want one, as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord..(Don't get mad at me, I just joking) Okay? I don't want you to miss the target at our get together, and hit me in the back with your arrow, then say OOOPS.

Bingo... Thats what I was saying, it's a spiritual fight, but we have the victory.
