Default Christianity ponderance...

I, being raise Christian, was taught about the glory of Jesus and his teachings. As I read the different posts in this forum I notice a lot of people that seem to put Jesus above God. Or it seems they believe Jesus is God, which would be false since he is the Son of God. Now just a question or something to ponder... Is worshiping Jesus in such a light breaking the 1st Commandment "Thou shalt have no other gods before me."? Or am I just taking people's love of Jesus out of context?

What you have here is one of teh biggest disagreements on Hunting.Net religious site. There has been hard feelings over this topic to say the least.

The problem is ,,is that there is scripture that 'seems' to support both views. Those who view Jesus as God are called Oneness and those who hold that the three are different but compliment each other believe in the trinity.

And that is all I have to say about that.

Thanks for clarifying Chuck7. I was raised that there is God and his Son Jesus, who was sent down to earth and died for our salvation. Figured all Christians believed the same.

When I came on here I thought as you...LOL Believe me all Christians don't beleive the same. It's easy though my friend. Jesus said it best" Ye shall know them by their fruit." You will be lucky if 50% agree with ya. The proof of the pudding..can you maintain your love for those who do not agree with ya. YOu will need Jesus for that one.

John 14 9 Jesus said to him, " Have I been with you so long and yet you havenot known Me, Phillip? He who has seen Me has seen the Father so how can you say, "Show us the Father?"

Also read John 1: 1-14. This is where most of us get our basis for believing God and Jesus are one of the same.

Lets not get the idea that the oneness are harboring hard feelings. Being a one God believer, I can say I have no hard feelings toward any man. I have learned who not to discuss things with . . .possibly their the ones that have hard feelings. I simply pray for these folk and try not to let their ways affect me.

Heres another thing . . .as the majority here are trinitarian, and oneness is a narrow road with no bend in it for tritheism, folk like to insinuate that we don't bear fruit. These kind of slurs don't go unnoticed, however I do have enough fruit to not get a complex over it.

I thought God said This is my son whom I am well pleased. Oh well, I guess he was talking about himself.

I used to think the same way Motown, it's hard to see Jesus and God being the same. But read John 1: 1-14, and tell me what you've read, especially verse 14. Read each word carefully.
the Trinity is one thing I don't believe we will all agree on. As long as we never deny the Deity of Jesus Christ.

I read it very carefully just as you said and I see your point for sure. I also read John 1-29 and John 1-34 John 1-36 John 4-34 and I know you could give me a hundred verses right back. Way over this ole country boys head.

you said Those who view Jesus as God are called Oneness I'm a bit confused i don't know how you came up with "oneness" thats a new one to me.if i were to make a Guss i would say the one(god)became the other some how and has cleverly deceived us in to thinkinghe was talking to another.or mybe he was talking to his self.
And those who hold that the three are different but compliment each other believe in the trinity.
sorry more confusion .which definition of Trinity do you ascribe to ?
there seams to be more than one.
