Did Jesus have a beard?

I have heard a number of people say that some soldiers plucked some hair from Jesus' beard leading up to His crucifixion. I haven't found any scripture which backs this up. If he had a beard, it would seem likely that this happened, but I don't even see anything which states that he did.

Anyone know?

I certainly don't know, but I would think it would be extremely unlikely that he would have shaved. Just that fact that virtually all men at that time had a beard and Jesus was raised basically as a common man, I think prety much cynches it.

Being a Jew I would imagine he did have a beard, Alex I am sure could answer this though.

Isaiah 50:
50:6 I gave my back to the smiters, and my cheeks to them that plucked off the hair: I hid not my face from shame and spitting.

50:7 For the Lord GOD will help me; therefore shall I not be confounded: therefore have I set my face like a flint, and I know that I shall not be ashamed.

Sure He did, however the writers didn't find that to bea signifcant issue so they didn't elaborate on it. But we have enough scripture to know He did.
