Our family will celebrate the birth of our Lord the way we've done it for years. We will attend the Christmas Eve service at our church--it's one of our favorite services of the year. We'll return home for eggnog, cookiee, etc and the movie "It's a Wonderful Life."
The next morning, I'll read Luke's account of the birth of Christ from the KJV. We'll sing Christmas carols and Happy Birthday to Jesus before tearing into gifts. Then the rest of the relatives and family arrive for Christmas dinner and more gift giving. Nearly every family member of both my and my wife's families are born-again Christians who love our Lord and will celebrate the birth of Christ and still give in to a bit of the other trappings--like gifts, etc.
The whole thing will actually kick-off the day on Saturday afternoon when the Redskins beat the Giants!

..I'll be up before dawn,as normal, looking out the window @ the sleeping world.... wish Jesus a Happy Birthday and then wonder "how much more".... before his Father puts a stop to all the crap.....
...then I'll Thank Him for what He has done in 2005 for my family.
...then the commercial side will dominate the reat of theday, as it will in most other homes....99.9%,I'd say....
We will get together on Saturday, our children, grand and greatgrand children..we will have dinner and then we will sing some Christmas songs and one of the grandchildren will read the christmas story in Luke and then gift time..
on sunday we will go to church as usual and then my wife and i will enjoy a quiet Christmas day at home..
It will also be a day of thanksgiving as this will be my 76th time of celebrating my Saviour's birth and the 55th time for me and my wonderful wife..i praise God for that and thank you father for your wonderful Son Jesus the Christ..

All holidays are mostly about family, it seems just about everyone gets together at Christmas. Christmas eve party with family and friends, our family gifts Christmas morning, Church, because of Christmas on a sunday late breakfast with one side of family, and dinner with the other. then the following days family from out of state come in and spend time.
Christians
Actually like all Christians we celebrate Jesus everyday. Our home is too small to do alot of decorating but my wife picked up some time manger fugurettes at a yard sale so I built a manger. My wife and I also decided not to buy each other anything so shopping for others would be easier. Our church has a service tomorrow which I plan to attend. It's been quite different this Christmas as out son Andrew is getting shipped out to go to basic training on the 27th. My wife has been in tears alot so this has been a rather blue Christmas. Jesus is very much Lord of our home and he has been pruning us to make us more fruitful. The sabbatical has been good. Good as far as getting my sights and desires on His purpose. Today we are having a big turkey for dinner with company. I will get out the guitar tonight and we will sing our praises to our King. My heart has been very sober and quiet lately my friends as I seek to hear Him and HIm only.
Have a great weekend and strive to please Him and HIm alone. "Thou wilt keep thee in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on thee."
