I don't know if we have discussed this, we may have but I suffer real bad from that dredded AARP disease. A lot of the Mega Churchs are going to close for Christmas so they can give their employees the day off. My daugher goes a huge church, and told me no church Christmas day. Am I missing something or what? Isn't that what Christmas is all about, or am I just being old fashioned? Bob <><
my church has around 1800 to 2000 attendees each weekend. That doesn't qualify as "mega," does it?
From where I'm from that would be a mega church. Most churches around here are less than a hundred.
Our church won't be having services christmas day but has a busy schedual all this week.
I agree that ther should be at least one service on christmas.

I don't know if it's just mega churchs. I been hearing about this on the local news ( Ft Worth and Dallas). I just wondered if it's happening in other parts of the U.S. If it is is't shame, and it really doesn't surprise me, nothing does anymore.
Last Saturday night my wife's family and I went to a Christmas special at the First Baptist of Plant City,FL where one of my brother in laws and his wife attends and sang together for the special. Thier congregation is well over 2000.The church has it's own 40 piece Orchestra, about 100 in the Choir, they broadcast live the Sunday Services to the Baptist Hospital in Plant City and I don't know how many other things they do, But not my kind of Church!Plant City is the Strawberry Capital of the nation and 100's of farmers live there.
The church my wife and I attend in Seffner,FLhave about 350 and are also mostly farmers, but all we have is a piano and an organ. About 25 in the Choir and all membersare God fearing Christians and truely Brothers and Sisters to each other!

Of course Rev, at least around here , church doors are never locked and all who wish may come at any time to worship. But of course we can worship anywhere and should give our first fruits to the Lord everyday and it is no great sacrifice to have a communion in our homes on that day. Many folk will remark on how terrible it is to not have a service on Christmas day but will not sacrifice their services to the gathering of the saints on any day of the yr. I know that all on here participate in their local church, but for the ones that don't, I don't see where they should be so quick to put the church down for not attending a service on Christmas day, which is an honorableman made obseverance, but not a command of the Lord. Wheras , forsaking not the gathering of the saints is.

didn't they decide to do it because nobody was showing up for the services on christmas day? my family always goes on christmas eve, and spends christmas day with our family.
