Default Better to Give than recieve, a lesson learned.

This past Thanksgiving Holidays has taught that lesson to me.

I had my Mom and step-Dad here for Thanksgiving.

It has been 10 years, and two hip replacements, ago since my step-Dad has been able to deer hunt. My Mom let me know last year that she and Larry would be here for Thanksgiving.

That meant a deer hunt.

I had done my best to get ready, I set up a food-plot. Scouted and watched till I knew where the deer were moving and when.

My goal was to see the smile on Larry's face when he got his first deer in 10 years.

I reached that goal, it has been a blessing to me. It was a nice big deer, though a small(tiny) rack, spike on one side, 3 points on the other. But it just as well have been a 12 point, Larry's smile wouldn't have been any bigger or wider.

His smile was bigger and wider than mine would have been if I had taken a 12 pointer.

My freezer is already full to the brim with Elk and Deer from God's blessings.
Larry's freezer had room.

To give is truely more blessed than to recieve.

I wish I had the words in me to convey just how much of a Blessing it has been to me, that God has allowed me to be a blessing to one I care about.

It is to my shame that I don't get the same "high" from helping those that are strangers to me.

May God look upon my short-comings and yet still bless me and mine, Amen.

Thanks
Mr-Pirk

Your right Mark, Yr before last I took a kid hunting that had never been before. He had never even held a rifle much less shot one. After about a week of going every day he finally took a heavy 4 point. Out of all the deer I took that yr, his is the only one that stands out in my memory.

Pirk,

Thanks for sharing (even though you had shared much with me prior). I'm glad you helped others to have a great time. Thats what it is all about! Maybe you can teach me about those wiley Southern Whitetails sometime. In the meantime, if you are feeling giving--we have plenty of room in my freezer for some Elk!
(Kidding of course). Cook up a big roast for the Holidays and enjoy it.

God Bless,

Porter.

How manyhave helped bro. Jr (Johnny RayBeane) in his time of need?

Yes, I do believe "it's better to give than recieve" and there is no better time then now!

May God bless all who have him in your hearts and have helped him and his family this Christmas season!

Knightia, I really appreciate your postings, and your candid manner. It is a very simple principle, that if we align ourselves with the One who put things to gether in the first place, that things are going to be in sync. One of the simplest, yet profound and most overlooked principles is the one Mr Pirk has mentioned--giving. It is the basis for the whole Christmas message--that God so loved the world that he gave--and we are the recipients of His generosity. So ,when we line ourselves up in this manner, we are operating on His wavelength, and it is like oil to an engine--we operate so smoothly and His blessings come our way, because we are in His ways.I can't think of anything better that I would wish for you this Christmas season , than to realize the benefits and blessings He offers in His gift --to you! Then you can , in turn, share that blessing with others--completing the cycle! God bless you Knightia, this Christmas as never before! Your friend, Greg

That is a great story Pirk. I am sure Larry will never forget it either. Good for you! You will be blessed....

"If we lived Christmas each day as we should, and make it our aim to always do good, we'd find the lost key to meaningful living. That comes not from getting, but from unselfish giving.

He is ever giving liberally and lending, and his children become a blessing. Psalm 37:26

Today live by the principle, "It's far more blessed to give than to receive."
