Dear Red

This is in regards to the post that you replied concerning Tammy Faye. You are just coming back to the Lord so my commentwas not towardsyou .....no matter what is said brother if it doesn't match up with the Word of God don't agree with it. A red flag should go up in your heart. Many have compromised so much there is no red flag anymore. They think God smiles on their disobedience forgetting that we shall have to give an account of every idle word. The Lord said in his Word " No man taking the plow and looking back is worthy of the Kingdom of God." Your standard is not the fellows on Hunting.Net...your plumb line standard is the Word of God." Narrow is the way that leadeth to Life and few there be tha tfind it."

Chuck I appreciate your words of wisdom and love, really I do. BUT I also think God has a sense of humor as well. If not then why is it one of our most inate characteristics since we are in his image? I didn't deny the woman, I didn't wish her dead or label her evil. I just made light of her obviously poor taste in makeup. I happen to think that makeup is of MANs creation, not Gods. So was I laughing at God's creation (in this case Tammy Faye Baker) or was I laughing at what she does with objects too her own self?

I don't feel as if my heart is burdoned or heavy with remorse in this matter. Maybe it should be, but I can't see where harmless humor can hurt anything in a matter like this. I'm sorry if that offends you.

Life is tough enough, you gotta laugh when you can!

Dear Red,

We have all been raised differently. Remember the kid who was a big sissy in school and ran from every fight . He was always chosen last for the baseball team and never got a date. He was a loaner. He was the highlight of every joke. That was me. I had many thoughts of sucicide growing up . My step dad beat was mean and life was miserable.

Then I joined the army. In there I learned most men were 99% bluff and I started to lose my fear. When I became a Christian I lost all my fear of man. I know if God can fight through Samson...He can use me as well. However; God's love also began to grow in my heart. AS I hear sarcasm { which is one of my top 5 things I hate} something in me stirs up. Fun is ok as long as it's not done at the expense of another. Problem is ...it always does. My wife's family is very rude and sarcastic. ....and nobody visits anyone.

One of the blessings I really enjoyed at Strut's and ALL of his many friends...NO SARCASM.Those country folk really were sweet. I wasn't just saying all that. They are truly different. Our tongues should give life ..not root up. WE are called to gather ...not scatter.

Anyway.....this is where I 'm coming from. Also with my newness of repenting ..my love for God is growing. And when that happens my sensitivity towards others grows as well. I do appreciate your presense on here Red. I honestly do not have malice towards folks here. I just beleive I need to speak up sometimes. I don't have too many friends Red. Most people are sarcastic and rude .and alot of that has carried over in the church. I 'm very choosey with my friends . I choose to hang with wise men. The media has made lust , violence and sarcasm very attractive.

" A man is known by the company he keeps."
I kicked that company out a while ago. What a difference in our home .ALot more peace.

Red, the only time a person can't Smile, Laugh, Raise thier arms above thier heads andspeak a complete sentence, is when they are having a heart attack! Man, I give thanks to the Lord everyday that I am able to perform all those things! Like I told the Rev., a man that honors the Lord and has a sense of humor, is my kind of person!!

I am convinced that Christ hada sense of humor when he was here, however I do not beleive there is a single piece of scripture to back that up (if there is I would love to see it). As long as humor is not at the expense of others I have never seen a problem with it.

I would never poke fun at Tammy Fay or any other person with a fetish for covering thier face in multi colored putty, but I will say I find it amusing, I just wouldn't say it to her face. If I was a friend or aquaintance of hers I would in private pull her aside and tell her that not only does it make her look like a harlot, but her skin needs to be able to breath.

Taz,

I had cable TV for 3 days once. I happened to see Tammy and Jim on two separate talk shows. I was very impressed with the new Jim Bakker. Very humble man and if I had cable I'd probably listen to him daily.

Sad about Tammy and the cancer, I will say a prayer for her, she also appears to have cut back drastically on the make up which presents a better image of her.
