After reading the Old Testament through and flying to Israel I have observed and read it myself that his people should be praying toward Jerusalem which is toward the east. Does anyone else pray toward the east?
I've never heard that taught, and (obviously) never practiced it myself. We live under the Law of Liberty, not the Law of Moses. I'm 99.999% sure that Christ never instructed His followers to face in any certain direction for prayer. He did give us an example of how to pray, in what's commonly referred to as the "Lord's Prayer", but that's all I can think of as far as that goes.

Chad,
Thanks for the reply. I do differ from ya in the fact tha tI do not beliee all the things in the Old Testament was law. There was no law telling the Jewish people to face the Temple ...just simply an example. Let's see ifI can find the reference.
Psalm 138:2 I will worship toward thy holy temple, and praise thy name for thy lovingkindness and for thy truth: for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name.
1 KIngs8:30 And hearken thou to the supplication of thy servant, and of thy people Israel, when they shall pray toward this place: and hear thou in heaven thy dwelling place: and when thou hearest, forgive.
1 Kings 8:38 What prayer and supplication soever be made by any man, or by all thy people Israel, which shall know every man the plague of his own heart, and spread forth his hands toward this house:
8:39 Then hear thou in heaven thy dwelling place, and forgive, and do, and give to every man according to his ways, whose heart thou knowest; (for thou, even thou only, knowest the hearts of all the children of men
Daniel 6:10. Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went into his house; and his windows being open in his chamber toward Jerusalem, he kneeled upon his knees three times a day, and prayed, and gave thanks before his God, as he did aforetime.
Pork, catfish, rabbit, squirrel, turtle, stingray, shrimp, mudbugs.....I'd definately loose weight if I went on a "Jewish" diet!
Seriously though, Christ gaveChristians what we need as far as instructions onworship practices. Like I said, in the model prayer there are no instructions to face East, or towards Jerusalem, nor anywhere else that I know of in the New Testament. If it was important, and especially if it was required, I believe Christ would have made it a point to tell us.

The modern temple has not been built yet. I see where you are going Mr. Pirk. My question was a very simple one. It had nothing to do with keeping of any laws. I did my own internet study on it and got some answers. Thanks for the replies.
