Default A small prayer request!

Just wanted to inform you guys on something that happened to me recently, nothing serious but I know a little prayer might help me in my situation.

I recently bought my first bow from a local pro shop. When I went into the shop I really had no clue about getting fitted for a bow. I told him I wanted to get fitted and he say okay, grab a bow and pull it back. So I did. I didn't really know what to be looking for or how it would feel. He told me that bow fit me well and that it was really up to me after that.

I thought this was kind of strange, since he never really fit me with a set measurement. The only measurement he took of me wasthrough him looking at me drawing a bow back. Anyways, I bought the bow and came back two days after he got all of the accessories I had bought put on the bow, including a D loop. So I go and try to pull the bow back and I can't. I am scratching my head and he is telling me that even though I can't pull the bow back I need to learn on these measurements and just relax.

Once again, stupid me leaves the pro shop thinking I can be Superman and just pull the bow back after I get a little stronger. I started looking on the internet about finding information about this guy and I didn't find many good comments about his business ethics. Many guys weren't very happy with the way he treats his customers. I don't really have any personal dislikes for the guy, I just think he doesn't have good business ethics. I feel he just tried to move his product and really wasn't interested in my best interest. That is why I am still trying to give him the benefit of the doubt here. Even though I have talked to many people and every time I mention his name they don't seem to be surprised at my situation and almost know what to expect out of this guy.

This started to eat at me so I went to some others shops around the area. One being Cabelas and the other a local pro shop not far from my house. I got fitted by both shops and they found out that I am more close to a 27 1/2" draw length, my bow I bought is set up at 29 1/2" with a D Loop on.

Here is my dilemma, something I am going to hopefully have a chance to resolve on Tuesday. The bow I have is draw length specific and the limbs are at 60-70 lbs, I need 50-60 lbs limbs. I am to the point where I just want to see if he will buy the bow back from me. I haven't shot the bow and I am even willing to take a loss on the bow just so I can get a bow that fits me. I am basically at his mercy. From his policies of "If you dry fire the bow you own the bow" and such, I feel he won't be willing to give me a fair chance. He may even call me crazy for questioning his knowledge and measurements.

So what I am in need of is some prayer. I know that I was a littlehasty in my decision and I think God is reminding me that I need to shop around rather than just buying something at first site. But right now, I need the Lord to soften this guys heart and hopefully he can work with me on a deal. He is a nice guy but he seems set in his ways.

Any other advice would be appreciated. But your prayers are really all that I am asking for. I know God is good and either way he will be looking out for me.

Thanks for your time,
Dave

My friend ...go into your prayer closet and ask God to do just that. He can. He has done tha tto me before . Ask God to give you favor with that man. But go beyond this forom. Find a secret place away and pour your heart out to God .I will do the same for ya later.
God bless,
Chuck

Thanks for the advice Chuck. I just found a new place to pray! The laundry room. It smells good and it is pretty dark and quiet in there!!

I was planning on praying right before I go into the pro shop on Tuesday as well.

Thanks for the prayers gentlemen!

Bols,
I have honestly and sincerely prayed tha tprayer before . Fasting doesn't hurt either. Two quick testimonies.

1. My father in law used to be very possessive of his cars. He wasn't saved. My grandfather in Maryland had died from smoking cigars. My wife and I got down on our knees and ask God to lay it on my father in laws heart to drive his car. It was when I was in college. We were very poor. In 10 minutes he called and offered to us his car. We took it.

2. 2 years ago my wife was a substitute teacher where I work at. The principal is a Christian. I ask her to hire my wife. She said there was no way. No openings . I prayed and fasted. My principal came to me and said God spoke to her in a dream to hire my wife. ...bu tshe said I still have no openings. A couple of weeks later a teacher got offended about something and got a transfer. My wife was hired. She and I bothj teach 3rd grade.

God hears our prayer but I am finding prayer closet prayer is more effective.

Love ya,
Chuck7

Pray for him, then talk to him, if he doesn't take careof it, remind him that a bow not fitted properly is very dangerous and he could be liable for a law suit.A letter from a lawyer might make him budge a little. I hope you can correct this, but since you asked him to measure you, it is his responsibility to fit you correctly.
