Default If you could start from scratch again.

I'm up late and since this forum has seen alot of relationship discussion lately I thought this might be a good thread to start. I'm thinking along the lines of relationships with the opposite sex, but really it can be about any type of relationship or "course setting" decisions in your life.

So...If you could start from scratch would you do things differently, approach things differently or make it a point to avoid/embrace certain ideas or things?

Extremely open-ended...so "talk amongst yourself"

Soil Arch I would make much better use of "Time". We don't realise just how short the walk through this life can be till we grow a little older and start losing some of our friends.

The second thing I would change is my younger attatude that Christian values shouldn't be taught by our goverment.

For my generation the hollow echos of the false teaching of "Live and let Live" translated as "Do your own thing" were still strong.

Doing your own thing without regard for the world you will leave for the next generation has been one of the most harmfull fads to have swept this country.

A country based on Christian values is the strongest set of values you can build and maintain a country on.... if I had it to do over again I would have been shouting that from the roof-tops.

Thanks
Mr-Pirk

Amen Bro Pirk, well said, I too would have been more involved with out country and keeping our Christian rights.

Secondly, I would have never permitted my wife to smoke, she would still be around. She's been gone five years now, and I still miss her very, very much. In fact this morning I broke down thinking of how I could have stopped her from killing herself with those nasty cigarettes.

Thirdly, I would have never allowed my children to see my loose my temper. I didn't realize how much children are like a sponge, they soak up everthing they see.

I am sure all of us have regrets and many things we would do different. Today can be a start from scratch point for all of us.

I will be honest, there have been an awful lot of things in my past I regret, but I would not change a thing, the path I have followed in life has made me what I am today, I have 6 beautiful children and a loving wife, the road I have taken to get here has not been easy, nor has it been full of things I am proud of, but I am pleased with the road that God has given me to travel so far and blemishses and all it has led me to a good life.

When I was 22 I recieved Christ Jesus as Lord and Savior and remeber saying...If i knew He was this real and close i would have acepted Him a long time ago.

I also would not have given over to peer pressure if I had to do it all over again. There are people and places I would have advoided.

I would have studied and applied myself better in school.

I would have deer hunted more as a child. I lived in prime white-tailed country and didn't realize how good it was until it was too late. I even had permission from6 local farmers to hunt

I would have started reading the Bible at an early age.

I would of called the cops on my abusive step father and wicked neighbors.

All we can do his count our pass as dung and press on.

Actually we do start from scratch:
2Co 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
For some, Satan tries to use their past to discourage . . .the Lord has cast it all into the sea of forgetfulness and unless I can use it to help me to help someone else, I have to.

Tazman - I couldn't have said it better. All of my stupid decisions were turned around for the best. I'm so blessed to have the family I have now. A beautiful wife and 3 beautiful children. Thank God for his mercy and grace.
