The ACLU wants it banned from any public avenue--schools, the workplace, of course gov't buildings, etc. for fear of 'offending' someone of another religion or no religion. I say, if we are to be truly 'tolerant', then teach all people to respect all views, without having to 'whitewash' our society from anything nonsecular. There is a lot more to it, but, in simplistic terms--since you are damaged from Lacrosse--that is what is behind it--at least on the surface.

With todays standards (not mine), teaching about Christsmas tochildrenin public is like teaching them religion.

Christmas [Christ's Mass], in the Christian calendar, feast of the nativity of Jesus, celebrated in Roman Catholic and Protestant Churches on Dec. 25. In liturgical importance it ranks after Easter, Pentecost, and Epiphany (Jan. 6).

Charlie P I think the point of the cartoon is that a child is sometimes limited
by the courts in expressing the teachings of Christ. It isnot that they can't use the wordthat has grown to mean almost everything, except a celebration of the gift Jesus gave us.

Just so you understand what I am talking about, in some schools the courts have ruled that Christian prayer groups, started and lead by students, are wrong...even after normal school hours.

So for those schools Christ mass is okay, as long as you don't include the Honored Guest....even if it is after school hours.

Thanks
