Default Merry Christmas or Happy Holidays

Our Pastor mentioned Sunday that there are some businesss that can't say Merry Christmas anymore instead they have to say Happy Holidays. he also mentioned that the song "Silent Night" will be sang as " Silent Night, winter night" not Holy night. You can see where this world is going. Come Lord! Come quickly!

This has been going on for quite a while, but it is getting worse. It will get even worse, if we keep electing liberals into office. At the Whitehouse they wanted to call it a Holiday Tree... Our President did stand up the liberals and it is still called the National Christmas tree... enjoy it, it may the last time.

I'm in a public school and teach the entire Christmas story from Genesis to the Gospels for my Social Studies. We were discussing knocking down the Jericho Walls today. They loved the story of the 3 in the fiery furnace. Children want to hear. Yesterday we discussed the Passover story. They loved it.

This irratates me to no end. The only reason we have CHRISTmas is because of.... lets see..... maybe ..... CHRIST. It is a Christian holiday. If you don't want to celebrate it, its fine with me. But don't insult me, my religion, and more importantly my Lord by making what is a religious holiday politically correct. There are other religious holidays this time of year. Why don't they try to change the name of Honika (sp?)? It is just a fact that Christianity is the dominant religion in this country, so it is just natural that its holidays are more publicized.

Again, if you don't want to celebrate it great, just don't try to lesson it for all the Christians by making it pc for all the whinny liberals.

I agree that Christmas is a Christian holiday and I will continue to keep Christ in Christmas and will wish folks a merry Christmas as long as I do not know what faith they practice, if they are Jewish I will wish them a Happy Hannakah<sp> out of respect for them and thier faith.

What about a "Festivus for the rest of us"? Hehe. Couldn't resist. "I got a lot of problems with you people!!!!" I've really got to get my aluminum pole put up here soon.

(it's from a "Sienfeld" episode, for those "uneducated" among us)

Uhhh....by the way, when those that say "Happy Holidays", just what are the other "holidays" to which this greeting refers? New Year's? Don't know of any other business or government holidays during the CHRISTMAS season. And do people actually get greeted with "Happy Holidays" AFTER Christmas???

edited for Hog....changed the "when they say" to "when those that say". I don't know who they are as I haven't run into them and as I avoid just about all stores during this time of year, I wouldn't know who "they" be.
