Why cant I do better in school. I study, do the hw. All I can say is I suck at school. I am really scared. If you dont do well in school lifes not going to be the best. I am so scared I dont want to end up working in some fast food resturant, or some other dead end job. I know what I want to do. I want to find some type of engineering job close to home. also to farm on the side. the farming part alone I cant make a living off it. I am really scared that I may fail. I want to be successful. to get any where in life you need college degree. you say god is with me. ok i believe that. focus more on god and all. I am trying want to do well. It doesnt happen for me.

If you would visit a 3rd world country they would thank God for any of those jobs. Money is not the answer. We were on welfare for a little while during our early part of our marriage. The Word says the poor of this world are rich in faith. Paul said" I know how to be abased and to abound." Except where you are now and be ye thankful.I know what I want to do. God will answer your prayers. Will He give you what youwant?? Maybe not but He will supply your needs. 1224, i have answered a few of your post to the best of my knowledge, i also offered to send you a book, free to you, if you'll promise to read it, and then pass it on to someone else, the book, "The purpose driven life" will answer a lot of the questions you have been asking, i'm all for helping a young person out, but i made this offer to you before and you didn't respond, so now i am going to tell you this, get off the "pitty pot" and do something about it, or are you just yanking chains[:@], everyone is good at something, will you be the next bill gates, only you can answer that question, read "the power of positive thinking" norman vincent peele, as c7 mentioned money is not everything, if your obsesed with money there is a good chance you'll never have enough, if you place higher value on the more important things in life you'll have more than enough money, me and my wife are so blessed, i never have been much of a "high roller" i simply like to hunt and fish, i have found thru doing what i need to do God has provided much more than i ever desereved, will it happen for you, i would say yes if you do what is needed, if you continue to do "your will" you will also get what you deserve, you reep what you sow brother......

MT Hands I've been wanting to read that book The Purpase Flled Life.
I hate reading though... but because you suggested the book I will read it. I'm heading to the Christian book store right now to buy some Christmas cards and I'll pick up a copy of that book. I can read it tomorrow while hog hunting in the swamp. I am reading Aesop's Fables to my students now. We love those. Whoops ..there goes my wife the fugile person. She says don't buy it ..she will pick me up one from the library. You know MT..I am like you, the Lord has blessed us pretty good. However; we were poor so long we still act poor. We buy 70 % of our clothes from yard sales. I only have one deer rifle exception of the black powder. I fish out of a 10 foot jon boat. We try not to get sucked into the keeping up with the Jones garbage. Everything ends upat the dump anyway. What you do in Christ is the only thing that matters.

chuck it is a very good read, i'm not sure how much it will help you, but if you have little or no direction in life this book is a must, as far as reading it, it is a very easy to read book, only read one chapter a day, then reflect on it and study it, all the scripture in the book is outlined, so you can go right to the source, i'll admit, there were several things i read over and over, some i'm still studying, but it is a very good read, also someone in 1224 shoes should read "the power of positive thinking", i just hate to see people admit being defeated, till they have exhausted every resource, and done all that can be done... and at the least read some quotes by great men like C.S.Lewis, this was one man that could get you pointed in the right direction in a hurry

My wife told me it's a good book but mostly just the basics. She's already read it. Hey ...sometimes we need to get back to the basics.
I also had trouble in school and you can tell by my spelling that I still do. That doesn"™t mean I am dumb I just didn"™t learn in the ways they taught.
There are around 8 types of learning styles, most people use a few of these styles to learn. Schools in America, for the most part use two of learning styles to base their teaching on.
Verbal Linguistic and Logical Mathematical. In the experiments we did in class less then 15% of people were these types of learners.
My suggestion is to look for new ways to learn stuff. I am vary active and I learn well when I do things (this is called Kinesthetic Learning), I am easy to pick out in a class because my legs are always moving. I can"™t sit still and as a kid they thought it was A.D.D., Thank the lord for the good cense of my mom to not let them put me on drugs.
In high school I finally figured out how to learn my way and I started to do a lot better.

Honestly, maybe its your will, and not Gods? I know that sounds harsh. I know there has been several things I wanted. But looking back it wasn't God's will I believe. It was my will. I believe he was steering me to the place I am now. This world that we cling on too so tightly really isn't much. I know I forget this regularly. Like, I have been hunting all week and havn't seen a buck in 5 days. And went all day without any deer in freezing cold. I was little down, but bottom line, its really a small matter compared to God. In fact, its a nonissue whether I get a big deer or not, do well at my job or not, as long as I continue to walk in the Lord. I forget this regularly.

Amen...there has been a very dangerous doctrine around since the 70s. 'The Bless me Lord' doctrine. Where churches are having folks focused on themeselves instead of the Lord Jesus Christ. We are to seek the giver ;not the gifts.

You know a evangelist (I think Robby Zacarias, not sure of spelling) said the other night. He asks for very little to nothing compared to what the payback is. Eternal life. He just asks we obey his word, which doesn't say we have to be miserable, in fact, I am more happy and put together now, than ever when my will ran the show. My will made me miserable. It made me a greedy consumer, a drinker, drug user, fornacator, all which evenually hurt me more than it ever made me happy.
