Just wanted to say that I have been really getting involved with my church more lately and I owe some of that to you. Whenever I needed someone to talk ,you folks are always here. Thanks for the great fellowship that you all of you have given to me. I'm actually starting to see some of the fruit from it now. All of you be strong and continue in His grace. Surely our work in the Lord is not in vain.Keep safe this hunting season.
God bless,
Chuck
Ten months ago when I came here I was very hurt with the church. My wife and I had left the church.Through you folks some have encouraged me..and some of tried my faith. I have learned there are many more opinions than just mine. I have learned to fellowship with folks of opposite views and my wife and I have recieved the ministries back from which we had deserted. I'm much more mellower now thanks to the training I've recieved here . I've also gotten a few hunting buddies to boot. God is truly the Author and the Finisher of our faith.

Hey Chuck7,
You've given me a new appreciation for
something I had taken for granted, bird watching.
I was in the deepwoods for 13 hrs the day before
Thanksgiving without seeing 1, no not 1 single deer.
BUT, now that I'm noticing more of what the Good Lord
blessed us with it did'nt bother me near as much.
*Wood ducks, 3 beatiful males flew up out of the
creek bend I was hunting over. Also, some other
black & white ducks swooped past looking for water
in this creek bed. No running water, just holes of water.
*Blue birds, 1st I've seen. Seen lots of Blue Jays, these
were pretty little Blue birds.
*Wood Peckers, Large RedHeaded, a smaller one with
some red on the head and a couple other unidentified.
*Wild turkey hens, at 2:00 pm one flew up and sat in
the tree I was under for a couple of minutes. As soon
as the sun hadpeeked up I could hear them from every
direction. Pretty cool.
*Unidentified VERY large bird, thought it was a hawk
at first but pretty sure it was not a bird of prey. It had
brown top, almost white bottom, flew into lower/smaller
limbs and flapped around awhile.
*Mourning dove, flushed a couple of very large flocks
at daybreak. Of course I've seen lots of dove before,
just not in this area. They know dove season is over!
*And of course all the usual sparrows, larks, buzzards
and crows. I'm taking a camera next time out so I can
work on ID'ing some of the ones I don't know.
Did'nt mean to highjack the thread but I am grateful for
the blessingof this forum, which is nothing without the
people who post on it.
Thanks for the nice reply PKnTX. Probably the folks who really make us grow the most are those who may seem contrary. Face it...this is where we have to be the most sensitive to the Spirit on should I reply and how do I reply. Is what they say legit? Why do I feel unesy around them? God has placed the members of the body in the body as He sees fit. If you can get along here you can get along at any local church. You will never find such diversity of personality as you will on here and with frevency. All of us I'm sure would die for our faith { as different as they may be} The only way to get along here is to humble yourself and look beyond the opinions and see peolpe. Needy people too. We are all nothing apart from the grace of God.
I 'm glad you noticed the birds. It took me about 3 years and many walks with Audubon to get th ebirds down. I'm workin gon butterflies , and wild flowers now. It just adds so much more when walking through th ewild when you know the vegetation and living animals around you. I kept a list last week but only got 11 birds. Missouri was a treat. I got 10 new birds ot add to my life list. They have got the sparrows up there.
I love watching all the other critters out there. The other morning, I saw 2 bobcat kittens playing ofr several minutes--and it was pretty neat. I like to hear the sounds a swell. The crows, odd as it may seem , are one of my favorites to hear.
Greg,
I understand from a Floridas wildlife official that any sighting of a bobcat is a real treasure. They are nocturnal and are very cunning. I 've only seen one in my life time running across a road. Strut sent a nice sized one to me caught on his Cuddleback camera. They are a treat. That was a real prize. When I was hunting in Missouri I was hopin gto see a Golden Crowned Kinglet. On my last sitting in my Summit one of those tiny birds flew within 10 foot of me. I was real excited seeing that little bird. On the evening before I chose a stand around a bunch of blackberry bushes because of the abundance of sparrows. I was thrilled seeing my first fox sparrow. Simple bird to identify ...a sparrow with a solid red tail.
PS lot of deer signs too.
ditto c7, i love you guys and gal(s) ya'll are the greatest, you give me hope in an otherwise dismal world, i respect and enjoy everyone heres opinion(s) we may differ in doctrine but we all share Gods love and caring heart, i know we all want the best for each other, once again, thank you bothers and sisters in Christ for your caring hearts...
may God bless you all as he has me, keith
