I am a believer yet I am still apprehensive about dying. I know my eternal salvation is assured but I still find that deep down I am afraid to die. I am not obsessive about it or anything but it does cross my mind from time to time. Is anyone else afraid or is anyone not afraid at all and if you are not afraid how did you come to be that way?
That's a good question.I would say that I am afraid to die too. I think it is more because I love living so much. I have seen cancer take lives in my family so death is scary to me. I guess if you asked are you scared to die yes or no I would say yes.

Rom.8:11
[11] But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.
We who believe and have faith in Christ, are afraid of what?

I have no fear ofdeath but i'm not looking forward to the process of dying..I'm talking about the pain and suffering that sometimes lasts for a long time..But then i look at romans 8:18 which says."For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory that shall be revealed in us." and then i realize it will be worth it all when we see Jesus..no i'm not afraid of death, for it's just the beginning of a new life, an eternal life in Heaven.. even so come quickly Lord Jesus..

I don't know if I have fear per se, but I have worry. I worry about my wife going on without me. I have worry about my kids growing up with only memories of me.

Of course you do, so do most of us. The only fear I have isfor myself and familyofhaving alingering and suffering death. My mother and father both said goodnight to me and never woke up again! That's howI want the Lord to take me!

THOU knowest, Lord, the secrets of our hearts; shut not thy merciful ears unto our prayer; but spare us, Lord most holy, O God most mighty, O holy and most merciful Saviour, thou most worthy Judge eternal. Suffer us not, at our last hour, for any pains of death, to fall from thee. Amen.

Speaking from personal experience as I have flat lined twice and once even my family made funeral arrangements, there is nothing to fear, "as Paul says Absent in the body present with the Lord".
Fear is a product of our biological brain, it is not natural for the spirit , as soon as your spirit leaves the body all sensations of the body ceases and then you become as you are a living spirit and you are not restricted by pain or any of the feelings we have such as hate, anger, etc.
You become overwhelmingly full with Love, your senses are highten 1000% you are aware of everything even what is happening back on earth and what people are saying about you.
This was my experience.
Peace
