Good luck on your hunting trip chuck. I was out this morning with my bow and took another for the freezer. Your timming couldn't be better the rut is really starting to kick in in kansas and missouri. Hope you get a big ole buck but most of all relax and have a great time. your friend Chris

Thanks sir. I'm packing as you speak. I 've bought one anterless permit and the license for the buck. Strut also said the rut is in high gear right now. I just thank the Lord for the opportunity. Tomorrow at 2:30 I'm also getting interviewwed for an outdoor teaching position where I would teach a different class a day on Florida habitat and conservation.
I plan to rush up there to Missouri to get in the stand on opening morning ....but I'm taking my time coming back. I plan to look in the WMA where the Ivory billed Wood pecker was seen. Wow! That would be a great picture.

that a birder like you gets a chance to see that
Ivory billed wood pecker. Now that would be GREAT!

I 'm debating about going through Atlanta. I've heard horror stories of congested traffic. I should get there around 1:00AM though. I have 2 mappings. One is 250 miles closer but I do believe the freeway may be safer because of the lighting and many service areas.
