Just read Genesis Chapter 38 the story of the son's of Judah who not only did not practice self pleasure but had selfish pleasure and ejaculated on the earth, God Killed them All.
Each Spermatozoid carries a potential life human.
Each sperm is actually alive as life is within the man.

Are you looking here for someone to say it's O.K? Wrong forum I think. It's one of those things that's gonna happen with adolescents growing up, but as an adult (I don't know your age) you know the answer. The reason you asked is because your feeling conflicted about it. That should tell you something right there.

At the risk of being viewed in a strange light....I would like to ask a question. Does the Bible ever say it's wrong to do? It's very specific about adultery and lust and so forth, but I haven't really found anything that leads me to believe it's as terrible as people seem to make it. The point about the sons of Judah does not really apply. The problem in that specific case was that, he was supposed to raise up sons for his dead brother. It was in the law. Because he spilled his seed on the ground, he was killed? No. He was killed because he refused to raise up sons for his brother.
Look at the Law in the Old testament. It's full of things that are punishable by death.....find masturbation? I didn't see it anywhere.
I've had this same discussion with a brother who, for several reasons, will probably never be able to have a normal relationship with any woman.
I have counseled him that using pornography was not acceptable, but I can't in good conscience tell him the act itself is sin. Not every man will be as lucky as most of us and have a wonderful wife with which to enjoy
sex in a holy atmosphere. Don't pile guilt on someone who already has struggles.
I will say that anyone who settles for masturbation, is missing a wonder God gave his Children to enjoy in matrimony, as well as the blessing that a child of such a union can produce.

Actually this is a very good topic. Probably 99.9 men hav estruggled in this area. Let me give a little testimony here.
When I was born again in 1976 I was 22 years old. And although I lived in the fast lane I was still a virgin. I honestly thought I was too unattractive to get a get friend so I would just get intoxicated everyday and play my guitar or fish etc. I did have the problem though of secret lust though. Then, in Oct of 1976 I was sincerely and miraculously Born Again. When tha thappened I thought ALL who were in the church were ON FIRE SAINTS. I was wrong. Right off the bat I had the question of masterbation. Was it wrong or not?I only had 2 chaplains in my area...one an Assembly of God man the other a Luthern. The Lutheran man was in the area so I ask him if it was alright? He said, "My brother ..of course it's alright , it is God's gift to us." " Use your gift." My friends I wished I had not took his counsel.
Galations5:24 And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.
My friends, I found out real soon that all the folks in church are not Saints. I was propositioned more than once in the church.
What does masturbation have to do with being propositioned in church?
Obviously, someone who would offer that is wrong, but that doesn't reflect on you. I'm not saying that one should spend all his time doing it, but it's not a sin afar as I can tell.
Let me go one further, it's wrong to look on a woman with lust right?
Is it wrong to notice that a woman is attractive? I don't think so. If on the other hand, I notice a woman and I begin to dwell on just how attractive she is, or how pleasureable it would be to be with her, I've probably crossed the line.
The human mind is a very complicated thing. I don't know about you, but thoughts drift into my head at times that I know I wouldn't want others to know about, but have I sinned because I had a fleeting thought? For instance, there are times that for one reason or another disagreements arise at work, and there are times that I get angry enough that I can, for a split second, imagine putting my fist upside someone's head......a split second laterI think" No, I don't want to do that." .......is that sin? If your answer is yes, how is one supposed to "be angry and sin not" ?
I guess my thing is this: I don't want to try and bind something on someone else if I can't find book, chapter and verse for it. I can honestly say that I can tell someone it's wrong to lie, because it's specifically condemned in the Bible. I've not found a verse that tells me masturbation is a sin. If it's there, I'd like to know where.

I know for a fact that even animals, attempt(whether succesful or not), this very act. It's a natural impulse, dictated by chemical manipulation w/i the brain. Having said that, we are NOT animals, to the extent we have concious ability to distinguish sex as more than a reproductive act. We have been told, numerous times, in the word about "lusting".."impure thoughts", etc.. all having to do with this issue, which isn't soley a male problem, either. Sex was created to be shared by a Man and hiswife(s)remember Solomon?
Jesus told you that there were only 3 areas to watch for......
Lust of the Flesh...
Lust of the Eyes....
and the Pride of life.....
I think this has been answered quite thoroughly by several posters above. Nothing new to add, just a comment if I may. Let's, for a minute, forget the physical act, and look at what your mind and spirit experiences during masturbation. Who or what do you think about when you do it (Rhetorical, please don't answer in the forum)? If it is a person, that is Adultery or fornication in your heart. If it's a squid or some other non-human life-form, Ican't believeany one of us actually has any doubt in our spirit whether that displeases God. Blank meditation? I hardly think so. So, I would have to say it is sin (missing the mark). If it happens, repent, and ask forgiveness. We all miss the mark at times. If it happens habitually, without repentance, a lifestyle of missing the mark will render your life ineffectual at the very least.
