BC I started to read the article and then stopped once I realized how not only badly, but inaccurately the writer was twisting history. Early on he mentions that the celtics and the gauls were one in the same is when I was certain that not only was he putting a twist on history to jive with his beleifs, but was also out right rewriting history.
Here is a quote form the article:
Quote:
Celtic Paganism:
The first stream goes back to a practice of the ancient Celtic civilization. They were a warlike people who inhabited what we know as Britain, Ireland, Wales and Scotland. A thoroughly pagan people who worshipped many gods, they were called "Gauls" by the Romans, who were defeated by them in 390 B.C.

It is a basic principle of life that the origin of something determines its nature.
I dispute the very premise of the article.
Do you think you dispute this cause this holiday is something you like? Its very hard for some, especially myself, to understand how our own minds think. For instance, last weekend was ML season for buck. Well, I saw a nice buck, and he bedded down in a thicket where I couldn't see him but was 20 yards away or less. Wind changed direction 20 min later and he busted me. So this week, is doe ML season. I have planned for 2 days to go hunting on Thurs and Friday. I tell myself, I might go out and pop a doe, but my real intentions was to shoot that big buck. I have tried and tried and basically convinced myself that there's nothing wrong with me doing this. I tell myself, there's lots of deer out there. And most will get hit on theroad. Or tell myself, its just a deer. But afriend from the church who is a advid bowhuntertold me,"well, you will have to answer for itone day". He was right.
Sorry guys, I love telling deer stories, what I attempting tocommunicate issometimes we do ortry to justify things cause its something we enjoy but our very nature does everythingit can to do what is wrong.

Hey Chuck, hope you enjoy that hog leg. I have recently went thru a change since getting baptised and really accepting Christ. I am not scared anymore. I don't sleep with a pistol anymore. I figure God's will will be done. So strangely enough, I have rearranged my pistols and have start trying to sell some of my semis. Some like 1911's I keep in the safe cause, Hey its a classic. And one 357 that was my uncles, I want to keep. But the rest I am trying to trade for these big ole hunting revolvers. Like the X frame 460 or a Ruger 454. I want to jump head first into pistol hunting.
How about this: The origin of the fire arm is as a tool to kill people easier. Because of these origins, the true nature of guns is to kill people. They should therefore be banned, regardless of the purpose, or the intentions of the user.
Eto, your talking worldly things. The nature of a gun is to kill. And they do and have. Not sure where the banning thing is comeing from.
We are talking about the Bible here. The rule, the sepreme handbook on life here. Its kinda funny on here. People tend to believe what they want to believe. Not what is written. I mean,20 yearsyears ago, I loved Halloween. It was awesome. I would terrorize the nieghborhood. I stayed out all night long. Egg everybodies car, espeically my enemies, and I was busy, cause I had a bunch. So before last year, I would dismiss this article for hogwash. Why, cause its not what I wanted to believe. But these days, we better quit conforming to this world.
You know I love this one peice of scripture. Romans 12:2NIV
Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Thenhis good, pleasing and perfect will
Or KJV if you like
And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

In English the word Gaul also refers to a Celtic inhabitant of that region in ancient times, but the Gauls were widespread in Europe by Roman times, speaking the Gaulish language. Besides the Gauls living on the territory of modern-day France, there were the Lepontii who had settled in the plains of northern Italy (Gallia Cisalpina), and the Helvetii who settled to the north of the alps, in Raetia.
Well, as a person who goes over to Europe pretty regularly, and in the providence of Brittany, in France, not sure if you know it or not, but there is a reason they call the island, Great Britain. There was at one time a lesser Britain. In France. From my looking up on the internet and my dozens of travels in those lands, And I know the internet is a very poor inaccurate source of information, he could be partially right. Also, if you have traveled there alot which I am sure you have or you wouldn't make a statement like you have, you know that the whole region was Pagan with many gods.
But even if he is wrong, everybody makes mistakes.I know I do, and have to pull that plank out many times. Its just an internet article. I thought I would share. Maybe you can look past petty mistakes and take it up on yourself to look up some of these things as I plan to do. Or maybe you can believe what you really want to believe.
