If Jesus came to your house to sepnd a day or two- If He came unexpectedly, I wonder what you'd do. Oh, I know you'd give your nicest room to such an honored Guest, And all the food you'd serve to Him would be the very best, And you would keep assuring Him you're glad to have Him there- That serving Him in your own home is joy beyond compare.
But when you saw Him coming, would you meet Him a the door With arms outstretched in welcome to your heav'nly Visitor? Or would you have to change your clothes before you let Him in, Or hide some magazines and put the Bible where they'd been?
Would you turn off the radio and hope He hadn't heard And wish you hadn't uttered that last, loud hasty word? Would you hide your worldly music and put some hymnbooks out? Could you let Jesus walk right in, or would you rush about?
And I wonder if the Saviour spent a day or two with you Would you go right on doing the things you always do? Would you keep right on saying the things you always say? Would life for you continue as it does from day to day?
Would your family conversation keep up its usual pace, And would you find it hard each meal to say a table grace? Would you sing the songs you always sing and read the books you read, And let Him know the things on which your mind and spirit feed?
Would you take Jesus with you everywhere you'd planned to go, Or would you maybe change your plans for just a day or so? Would you be glad to Him meet your very closest frinds, Or would you hope they'd stay away until His visit ends?
Would you be gald to have Him stay forver on and on, Or would you sigh with great relief when He as last was gone? It might be interesting to know the things that you would do If Jesus Christ in person came to spend some time with you.
Good news for you- Jesus has come to dwell within you and me through the presence of the blessed Holy Spirit. (Glory to God)
Rev,
Very good post. I wish I could save it to the front of my mind so I could never forget it. I'm going to have my family read it.
When in Georgia, as a new convert , our Bible study leader would set an extra empty chair out just for Jesus. And He always would show up. Jesus always changed peoples lives and He came to every meeting. For certainly as the scripture sayethin Matthew18:19 Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven. 18:20 For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them
Thanks ,

Bro Chuck; What a privilege, just to know the Lord and enjoy his blessings. He hath made us to sit together in heavenly places. A favorite passage of scripture is found in Hebrews 12:18 For YE ARE NOT COME UNTO the mount that might be touched, ect., ect. Verse 22 BUT YE ARE COME unto mount Sion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jersulem, and to an innumerable company of angels. V23 To the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven, and to God the judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect, V24 And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel.
Bro. Rev. excellent post and it set me to thinking about what I and my family would do if Christ did show up at our door.
The more I have thought about it the more realistically I can say that everything would revolve around Christ, not only the feeding and clothing of him, but I can see the whole of my family sitting at his feet drinking in his wisdom and glory, other then that I can not imagine another thing happening. Of course after saying that, it makes me more aware that even when Christ is actually at our house, he should be in our hearts and actions all the time any how, how short we all fall of that!

Well written - a little "wrath of goddish"......... but still makes me think -
I'd continue the way I am - wouldn't change a bit. If how I am, what I've become is "the wrong path" - then so be it. I'd probably ask him why he came.
