Default need advice/prayer

my wife and i are blessed with two perfect children. my wife and i have concidered adopting another child. we can not have another of our own. you can say that i have concidered it or thought about it as long as it took to finish my meal. my wife is really sought after this adoption thing though. i now have had time to pray and seek Gods wisdom on this and i do not feel led to adopt. maybe i'm being selfish. we have never been great with our finance and thats the biggest thing that scares me. since we have given our lives to Jesus, yes our finances has improved but we are living paycheck to paycheck. i know that God will provide to our needs but how do i know that adopting a child is in Gods will for me and my family? i had a long hard talk with God the other night and made this statement, " Father, if it is in Your will that my family adopt a child, show me by blessing me with a promotion to the next higher rank". (I'm active duty military). I know that Jesus told satan not to tempt the Lord our God, but I don't see it as tempting. Judges 6:37-40.
i told my wife this and shes inprayer for me to be promoted.

i'm not asking God to prove anything! if i came across as sounding that way i appologize. God knows the desires of my heart and the intent of my questioning. i'm asking for God to show me. He may and can show me in anyway, fashion or form. i am open to anything. but i'm not going to jump out on a limb over something that sounds like the right thing to do. many many people have fallen flat on their face doing what they felt was in Gods will or plan and wasn't.

Take your time communicate with your wife, continue to pray and ask for His peace, and guidance. If He says yes, He will provide the means of support. Just don't expect it to be the way you think--He's full of surprises!

Dear Friend ,
We decided to adopt 13 years ago. There are many different ways to adopt. if you are getting your children from foster care they will come with alot of emotional baggage. My wife and I had to have 30 hours training prior of adopting. This is the verse that spoke to our hearts before we adopted.

James1:27 Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.

IMHO I feel in my heart Christians should be eager to adopt. My friend some of these kids do not bond so you will have to except it as a ministry. The children with the biggest needs are Emotional Handicapped and Severly Emotional Handicapped. I understand that when adopting from chuildren's services you have a 25% chance of recieving one of these children. We got one.LOL We have had 3 animals killed and have had to fight the school system for 9 years and hand pick teachers. If I had to do it again ...I would. Even with all this it is very rewarding. I'm glad you folks are praying about it. We did too. Very scary. There atre verses throughout the Word that says God will bless you when you hav eblessed the poor. He will bless you and give you the wisdom that you need.

May God bless you brother and make His will crystal clear.
