After Christ died, His body was buried in a tomb. 1 Corinthians 15:1-4, show that the burial of Christ is a significant part of the gospel message. What significance can we draw from the Lord's burial?

That Jesus was dead and the grave couldn't hold him. i might die in the flesh and be buried in the earthbefore the Lord returns and if i am, this proves to me the grave can't hold me either.
Shows that he was in fact...deader than dead. It also fulfilled prophecy because he was burind in a "borrowed tomb."

Well . . .let me step off on this subject even tho I'm not exactly sure about all of it. I have been studying, but I may need some "setting straight".
I'm seeing the bible saying that as Christs body lay in the tomb, that His soul decended into hell, but of course didn't remain there. (Acts 2:25-32). The Greek text of Acts 2:27 says that Christs soul was in hades, the place of departed souls . . .which is different from the Lake of Fire (gehenna). I see that some of the commentaries say that this is simply the grave, but looking at other scripture, I presently disagree. Romans 10:7 says that when Christ died He decended to "the deep".The Greek word is "abusso" meaning "abyss, depth, underworld". Ephesians 4:8-10 says that Christ first decended into the lower parts of the earth and then ascended , leading captivity captive. 1Peter 3:19 speaks of Christ preaching to the spirits in prison..
I have another thought, but first will see what kind of feedback I get from this post. I admit that some of this I have always taken as true because it is what I've heard preached. My study seems to confirm that teaching but I see commentaries saying different.

Christ did'nt go to hades to suffer . . .that was taken care of on the cross. Some folk believe that He was there to offer a second chance at salvation, but this is not the case. . . The choice to believe and obey God must be made in this life. I believe that Christ proclaimed victory over the underworld and release for the rightious dead.

Wherefore he saith, When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men.
(Now that he ascended, what is it but that he also descended first into the lower parts of the earth? Ephesians 4:8-9 KJV.
As you know before the death of Christ , both the saved and the lost went to hades..it was divided into two parts, a place of torment and the Paradisie of God, Abraham's Bosum..Jesus went down and got the saved saints and took them up to heaven with Him..aren't you glad that today when one dies saved, they go straight to be with God..
