Default RE: Angels

ANGELS ARE INTELLIGENT BEINGS WHO ARE NOT HUMAN, MYSTERIOUS BEINGS WHO ARE "ALIEN" TO US. Angels are non-human intelligent beings who have superior technology and comprehension of physics, having been present at the creation of the material universe.
The concept of an ANGEL comes from the Greek aggelos; from the Hebrew ago for "one going forth" or "one leading"; messenger. Not all angels are "good". Not all angels continue to do God's will, although all angels were originally created by God to convey His message. Some angels rebelled against God's plan. Some angels go forth to give their own message; some angels go forth
to lead mankind AWAY from the truth.

But all angels are more intelligent and powerful beings than mere humans.
The angels are represented throughout the Bible as a body of spiritual beings intermediate between God and men: "You have made
him (man) a little less than the angels" (Psalm 8:6). They, equally with man, are created beings; "praise ye Him, all His angels: praise
ye Him, all His hosts . . . for He spoke and they were made. He commanded and they were created" (Psalm 148:2, 5: Colossians
1:16, 17).

It has been said that Christians are "pretty narrow minded" to limit the population of the universe to merely GOD, ANGELS, AND MAN. After all, there are "billions and billions" of stars which perhaps have planets, which perhaps have civilizations etc. However, within the classification of angels [non-human intelligent beings] exist diverse myriads. Hierarchies of innumerable angels still populate the universe. These angelic non-human intelligent beings built civilizations in our solar system -- even upon the Earth -- before Adam.
God is known throughout the Bible as the LORD OF HOSTS, Job 25:2:

Motown, That verse is speaking of humans not dieing anymore . . .we will be equal to the angels in at least as much as we won't die. I am sure that the departed have not become angels and that angels are not glorified human beings, but were created as they are.

Thanks for the clairfication.

Strictly coming from scripture, it seems that the Cherubim would be the highest ranking angels. The KJV uses the word "cherubims (Psalm 80:1.) The root meaning of the word cherub is "to cover, guard, protect." Lucifer, at the start was appointed to be the "annointed chreub that covereth"(Ez 28:14).
Cherubim , along with a flaming sword were placed at the entrance to the Garden of Eden to guard the tree of life(Gen 3:24). Replicas of cherubims were placed upon the ark in the Holy of Holies. The curtain of the tabernacle and the veil of the temple were embrodried with patterns of cherubims.

The Seraphim seem to be only mentioned once in the bible. They are seen as attending to the Lord as He is seated on a high throne (Isaiah 6:1-7). One of the seraphim purified the lips of Isaiah. It seems that they may deal with purification and unceasing worship.
Could be that the four creatures in Rev 4:8 may be seraphim. These beings have the same message of the seraphim in Isaiah 6:3: "Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, which was, and is, and is to come" (Rev 4:8).
Can't find much on seraphim.

Hebr. 1:14 teaches us that their function (or one of them) is to "minister" to the children of God. The original Greek word is diakonia, or, to do attendance, aid, serve. It certainly entails their protection from physical harm, and at times help in various needs, although human beings are not usually aware of it. They are also watching us and what we are doing. They do monitor human history-making events, and intervening according to God's will and plan. They are, in other words, controlling and limiting the power of the "god of this world".

HOW DO ANGELS COMPARE TO HUMAN BEINGS?

[ul][*]They are stronger than man, but not omnipotent (Psalm 103:20; 2 Peter 2:11).[*]They are greater than man in knowledge, but not omniscient (2 Samuel 14:20; Matthew 24:36).[*]They are more noble than man, but not omnipresent (Daniel 9:21-23, 10:10-14). [/ul]

I can only find the term "archangel" in the bible 2 times. Somehow I was under the impression that there were more than one arch angels. However it seems that the prefix "arch" means "chief", so it seems that it means "the chief angel".(Now would be a good time for you to jump in Aleph, as I'm getting a little confused here) I find where the bible mentions archangel two times . . .Jude 9 calls Michael "the archangel", and 1Thes 4:16 refers to the "voice of the archangel" that will be heard when Jesus descends to catch away the church. This could be Michael also. The plural form "archangels", I believe is not in the bible.

Isa.6
[1] In the year that king Uzziah died I saw also the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up, and his train filled the temple.
[2] Above it stood the seraphims: each one had six wings; with twain he covered his face, and with twain he covered his feet, and with twain he did fly.
[3] And one cried unto another, and said, Holy, holy, holy, is the LORD of hosts: the whole earth is full of his glory.
[4] And the posts of the door moved at the voice of him that cried, and the house was filled with smoke.
[5] Then said I, Woe is me! for I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips: for mine eyes have seen the King, the LORD of hosts.
[6] Then flew one of the seraphims unto me, having a live coal in his hand, which he had taken with the tongs from off the altar:
