I 'd like your opinion. I probably won't get more than one shot. I have no oportunity to practice out of a tree so her is my question. Say I'm about 12 feet up in the tree. Thedeer is about 15 yds away and broadside. Easy shot. I know to aim 4 inches behind the shoulder and 4 inches down. When shooting from my stand do I shoot right on , a little high or a little low. I will take the popular opinion and go with it.
thanks
Chuck
PS It's a Christian question because I know you guys the best.
Chuck I've been bowhunting for 15 years and I can honestly say 12 feet in the tree and a 15 yrd. shot your arrow will fly right where you point it. Now if you were 25 feet in the tree you might have to add some yardage. 20 yds and in aim where you want it to go. Good luck.

Thanks Keith. I was going to do that . However I just ran into a fellow that I shoot with some times at Walmart about 1 hour ago. He said to shoot low.
So I have .....
chuck i have been bowhunting for over 20 years, i always find somewhere to practice from (elevated) i have heard all kind of arguments about shooting down/up, while i believe shooting down a downhill slope you'll have less drop, this has been a topic of hot debate, but most agree that the shooting from an elevated position changes because of a change in form, ie; most people lower their bow holding hand, thus changing the bow/anchor relation, the proper way (i've been told is to bend at the waiste and keep your bowhand in the same position as shooting from the ground), here is what i do, BTW, did i tell you my wife thinks i'm crazy, i always put my safety harness were i can lean out on it and my body stillstay straight, it has worked for me for years, i'm not afraid of heights, and it is very comfortable to me.. but i would still try to find an elevated practice stand and take a few shots

Thanks men,
Hey I like that sight Reb.,
Yeah I plan to lean with my harness on Chris. In a WMA you don't get too many shots. I want to make sure I do it right. I hav ereal good groups up to 25 yds and that's it. Of course in a swamp that's plenty far enough.
Only 12 feet up, the target 15 yards away. Hold dead on, if anything
hold just a slight bit high because the off-side lung will be lower than
the on-side lung.
At that short range the 12 foot elevation , by my past experiance, makes
no difference.
Thanks
Mr-Pirk

hey reb, i'm one of the guys that love(d) the pendulum sights, i have a keller on an old bow that i still shoot every now and then, the only drawbak hunting here is the hilly terain/ and the thought of a flat/uphill shot, on level land, and set to the manufactors specs the things are neat
