Hi Folks,
I just gor a central AC put in to day . they didn;t get the stainless up around the ducts yet outside so I did not pay them till the job is done.
Is that ok ??
cost is 5000 for the entire job.

I hav emy thermostat down to 70 and it's been 5 hours and it will not drop past 79 is this normal. I hope i haven't gotten ripped.

You know you reminded me about a job I got called on
to open a safe in a home. My charges were $100 for the
firsthour and $25 for each additional hourplus tools and
materials. About 1hr and 10mins into the job I got the door
opened and the man says "you know I think thats a rip off".
I shut the door and spun the combination and told him, if he
want it back opened, pay me. He could'nt hand it over quick
enough.

as far as paying, do not pay a penny till your satisfied, i have been burnt several times by doing so, if they are a reputable biz they will have cash flow and the expertise to do the job right, i have had people want a "draw" the first day for "materials" that never show back up[:@], i have paid for jobs before they were not completed[:@]that end up not completed until i finish them, get a signed contract, if there is anything i have learned when it comes to businesses don't believe anything you hear and only half of what you see, as far as the temp change i'm not sure but they should check air-flow cfm at the registars before they leave and the air temp coming in and at the return...at least this is what a friend of mine that does a/c work does

If that unit can't cool your house enough to shut off in 5 hours than I would be concerned. 5 grand is alot of smack. Alot depends on how well your house is insulated also.

My wife came home after taking some classes, that in itself is a comfort. I love my wife. She got out a thermometer. It read differently than my thermostat. She said it was cool enough 74 . I said Ok and she gave me a hug and I feel ok again.LOL

I ran a 3-1/2 tonRheem for over 23yrs. Trane is a good
unit! One of the jails has over 150 Industrial Tranes
running at the same time, but are controled by a Lap
Top Computer. The bosses can contol them from thier
homes or where ever they are at the time of request.
