RE: Witnessing on the job
chuck-the guys i work around don't realy talk too much about God, but if anything comes up, they are quick to ask me to be in prayer for their need. i usethose times to witness to them. they are much more responsive then than other times. i work as a dispatcher to electrical linemen, and they are the pool from which other dispatchers are chosen. on the most part, linemen are a rough lot. you have to be pretty tough to do the things we do. i know that there are a lot of good Christian linemen, but i also think they are in a minority in my profession. any time i get a chance, i witness to them, as it might be the last time i get to witness to that person. we work in situations where one wrong move could be your last. as they say-it takes a real man to hold "white death" in your hands. i always try to end any dispatch with the caution to take care of themselves and all around them. when we do have an accident, i try to be there to help them thru the hard times. we tend to stick together, and they know those that are Christian will be there for them. we have bonds much like soldiers have. we trust each other with our lives each day, and know that we will be there for each other. may be just a little different from working conditions where others work, but this is where God placed me, so i try to "bloom where i was planted"! keep up the good works, and keep witnessing. you may never know when your efforts will pay off-bil
