A pastor who has a radio show, which I usually enjoy, said something that I just can't wrap my brain around. More or less, he said that if you can't remember the specific day that you accepted Christ into your life, then you're not really saved or "probably" not really saved.
Does this sound right to you?
I was a pre teen. I remember my pastor coming to my house, and praying with me. But I don't remember the exact date. I don't even remember the year. But I know it happened!!!!
Does what he said seem ridiculous to you, or am I the one who is incorrect?

It seems ridiculous to me, as well as judgemental! I could not give you an exact date that I totally accepted Christ, I can not even give you a year, I beleive it was in 1974.

I can come up with the approximate year (1960) but not even the approximate time of year. I do, however remember the pastor and what the sermon was about. Oh yea, I even remember is was a sunday evening service but what difference does any of that make? I'm sure as I get older I'll remember a few less details. Maybe his point is that it should be a significant enough event in your life that you should remember. Kind of like where were you when you heard president Kennedy was shot.

No.
This country is seeing and experiencing apostasy like no other time, and it's my personal thought that there are many thousands of pastors and churches helping this happen. Of course, it's all part of that larger picture no one out here seems to like to discuss (clearing throat, end times, clear throat).
Bottom line is if you have been saved, you should certainly know in your heart if you are still serving God or yourself. That much should be fairly clear regardless of when you first accepted Christ.

I totally agree.... I hear things coming from pulpits/radio/tv waves, that just don't line up. Intellectual people can fool the un-educated very easily, especially the New Converts. I hear more heresy about $$ than anything, mostly due to the fact most Pastors won't step on anyones' toes & PREACH THE WORD. but for that to happen, it takes a true Spirit-filled MAN of God,, that's something else in short supply these days... even with record #s of Christian College grads....
