Default Looking for a real good study bible

Right now I am re-reading the Bible cover to coverfor about the 9th time.
I have read the original King James version once and the NIV 7 or 8 times.
I use the Quest Study Bible NIV.

I have seen enough of Rebel Hog's posts to know he doesn't think a whole lot of the NIV version of the bible. I know he reads his bible a lot and is very knowledgeable about scripture. So if he is against the NIV version it makes me stop and second guess the NIV version.

I have access to alot of very knowledgeable people on this forum, so I thought I would ask for opinions.

What is a very good STUDY bible? I am looking for one that is accurate and written in modern or near modern language.

I figure if I am starting over in Genesis again then it is time to read a different version to see what I can learn.

Thanks for any insight.
Mr-Pirk

Bro.Pirk, please don't consider the NKJV! The only other one I would
study is the NIV on ocassions, but raely. I don' like to Confirm nor
Conform by Comparing Bibles. Stay as close to the Texus Receptus as possible.
I have three KJV Bibles and right now I am using the Nelson Regency
AKJV giant print, words of Christ in red, and with added concordance.
The cover is red and the # is 881CBG. Hope this helps!

If you could read hebrew I would give you one, But as far as transliterations stay with KJV.

You realise that the english versions are transliterations no translations as it is almost impossible to translate Hebrew or Arameic into english, But the KJV translators did an excellent Job with very few mistakes.

Shalom

Rebel and Alex thanks for the advice brothers.

The reason I really like the Quest Study bible is that it incules and makes note of different wordings of verses depending on the script that is being written, such as it will give the common text then have a foot note showing the different wordings depending on the septengent<sp> or volgate<sp> and such.

That is why I am looking for a STUDY bible. Not just a reading bible.

Alex I wish I did read Hebrew, that would be a blessing.

Thanks
Mr-Pirk

Bro.Pirk, I forgot to mention, that the one I quoted you refers you to other
verses after a given verse.

Mr. Pirk,
If you are going to stay with KJV the Thompson Chain Reference Bible is excellent. I've gone through 2. They are top notch shelf as far as a study Bible.
