Big Country,
Good question . As a new Christian I went to a Pentecostal church. At a certain time in the services some churches will ask for ' joys and concerns' or ' testimonies'. They give individual believers a chance to stand before the local body and tell something that God has done in thier lives. This is done to spark faith in the heart's of others as they see God working in your life.
On Wednesday our church as been going through a book in titled Praying the Lord's Prayer. I missed the first lesson but on the 2nd lesson he talked about God's name being holy. After hearing the Word I threw all of the videos I had with God's name used in vain ...such as Tombstone, Forrest Gump etc. I felt strongly to fill 2 bags up and toss them in the local dumpster. I believe God has blessed me for acting on that. Last week we studied about " Thy Kingdom come , thy will be done on earth as it is in Heaven." the pastor said God's will is the building of His Kingdom and what we are praying is for God to use us for the building of that kingdom. That urged me on to witness at my school. I am fortunate of having a Christian principal. My wife is still taking classes because she is out of field. She is hearing from other teachers that they have been warned not to mention the name of Jesus in thier schools. I know I would do it anyway. You can not sit there and see parents and children in such a lost position and keep your mouth shut.
Testify my brother. Testify to what God has done for you at your work place. Testifying is opening up your mouth and sharing with others what good things God has done for you.
I love you Big Mark,
Big Chuck
