Default Had a good time this weekend at a local Mennonite school

They have a festival each year to raise funds. This includes hot air balloon launch, pancake breakfast, craft sale, auction, petting zoo, pony rides, tractor rides, and food like you wouldn't believe: Bar-b-que, home meade icecream and pie, apple dumplings, donuts, trail balogne, apple butter made on site, home made peanut butter, bread, fresh squeezed cider... I could go on and on.

Central Ohio has a large Mennonite concentration (and Amish, further east.)

Pretty neat culture, and very nice, family oriented people. Some have begun coming to my church as well. Kids had fun. Wife and I had fun. There's just something about being surrounded by people who love the Lord. It makes for a great day!

Bro.Eto, I have a deploma from the Mennonite Church that I recieved at the age
of 8, from the sunday Bible schoolin 1948. My mother would take me every
sunday morning. Back then it was a Mission Mennonite Church.

What are their beliefs ?
Similar to some "mainstream" protestant denominations, but with exceptions. Similar to Amish in dress and men's facial hair.

Unique belief: 100% Pacifism.
Unique Custom: Some churches practice foot washing.

Also: I don't know, but I've heard that the Mennonite Church in North America is very different than in Europe.

We have a family locally that have a meat processing business. When I first met them, I droped of a steer to have processed, the young lady working the counter must have been fifteen, and going to home school. She asked for my last name, I said, Jankowski, she asked how do you spell that, I told her. She looked me straight in the eyes and said, " Oh your french."... I still laugh about that today when I think about it... But they are very industrous people upstanding people in our community.
