this place is a mess? we need someone with knowledge and discipline, now is not the time to leave

i will continue to pray for you and your family, andthat you may be guided in the proper direction...

The easy thing to do is pack up and go. Help make a mess, but leave it for someone else to clean up instead of working together to fix it. If I can't have it my way, I won't have it at all. That's not the answer to anything in life.
Sometimes what appears to be the easiest thing can be your best move. Like you said previously Chad "If you can't say something nice then don't say nothing at all". Right now I don't have anything much nice to say and if I stay around much longer I will say what is on my mind. If I do , I realize that I'm out of here. This way, I'll leave when I want and come back when and if I want. I won't give anyone the satisfaction of banning me. Whats the use anyway if I can't have a thread without antagonists causing it to be shut down and skating off to their own thing.

Well Leaf, it's like this. I care about this board. Do you have any idea how much moderators get paid for all their time, headaches, putting up with accusations, implications, threats, name calling, etc. etc. etc.? I'll give you a hint--NOT ONE THIN DIME. I'm down to a last resort to try and save this board. If I have to be the bad guy to get the job done, so be it. I can live with that.

I think I can speak for Taz in saying that nobody would get any type of satisfaction from banning you, or anyone else. We've had enough justification to ban several folks if we chose to do so, but as far as I know they haven't even recieved a 48 hour ban, much less a permenant one. The ONLY person I've banned from this board was making threats and trying to blackmail me via e-mail. As best I can remember, I've only had three people banned over the several years I've been a moderator here, and all three were banned due to making threats--the other two were on a different board.

You can have a thread just as easily as anyone else, simply follow the rules. If your temper won't allow that, I guess it is time for a break, and maybe some self-examination. If someone else causes it to be locked, start up another one in continuation, ignoring the inflammitory remarks. I'lledit the posts I can, but I have to use my best judgement. Sometimes that means locking it completely to keep it from going down the sewer.

If you, or anyone else, has a complaint about the way I perform as a moderator, send an e-mail to webmaster@hunting.net and state your case.

This "job" is no walk in the park, and it's sure not a power trip. In order to do it right, I'm going to make some folks that I like mad sooner or later. Yeah-buddy--that's a rush for sure. I don't even have time to ask my own questions or give my own opinions because I have to keep taking out the trash and making sure that a brawl doesn't erupt. Whoo-hoo--isn't that everyone's idea of a party!

I'm not here to run anyone off, but I'm not going to let anyone just have their way in order to get them to stay. I'm not perfect, never have been, never will be. I will do the best I can though.

Chad

Hey There Leaf River Mac and LBR, man has it been some longs days lately. My work day today was 14 hours long, I want to complain and hope for a little break.

I can't begin to imagine what kind of stress's you two are going through, Leaf River Mac I hope all is well with your daughter and her house hold. I can just imagine that kind of worry would for sure wear a fellow down.

LBR I know you were in the danger zone too, I pray that all is well with you and yours.

I know sometimes Mrs-Pirk gets short tempered, it normaly takes me a while to figure out why ( Women.... why don't they just come out and say whats wrong ????? ).

Leaf you said you were going to work a little construction while you are waiting for the school to be put back in order, what kind of work did you find?

LBR I just wanted to say thanks, to you and Taz. I have Op'ed before, it isn't fun.

I along with others disagree with Taz's and your's decisions from time to time. I do my best to remind myself that you and Taz are just trying to do the very best for this forum that you know how.

Leaf River Mac and LBR you two are some of the folks I have great admiration for...... man I hate to see you two anchors on this forum at odds.

May God bless you and yours.

Thanks for the blessing you two have been to the Pirks over the times here.

Mr-Pirk
