ok, while we are asking questions, I have one of my own. Alex, I think I remember you saying that you speak Castillan as well as Hebrew. I have a cassette that was recorded by Messianic Cuban Jews that have a congregation in Florida. I understand most of it but there are just a couple of words in one song that I don't understand. Part of the chorus says:
Yerguete y juntos alabemos --yerguete is not something I'm familiar with as far as mexican style spanish. Do you know what that means?

Another part in Hebrew says:
Shema Yisrael Adonai Eloheinu
Yeshuateynu umoshieynu
Adonai, Echad. ------I understand the part that is from Duet. 6:4 but what I don't understand are the extra words added --the "teynu" that was added on to Yeshua, and the word "umoshieynu". Can you tell me what that means? Thanks

Sis.Lizzie, I know the question is for bro.Alex, but I wanted to throw this
one in for you,

ESPAÑOL

Español del éxodo de ayer
y español del éxodo de hoy:
te salvarás como hombre,
pero no como español.
No tienes patria ni tribu. Si puedes,
hunde tus raÃ*ces y tus sueños
en la lluvia ecuménica del sol.
Y yérguete... ¡Yérguete!
Que tal vez el hombre de este tiempo...
es el hombre movible de la luz,
del éxodo y del viento.

Alot of pepole down here call the Cuban refugees, Yerguete, Meaning
a man without a country or tribe. They will have to sink thier roots and
thier dreams in therays of the sun.

The Word "yergete"
does not exist in Spanish the closes one would be hiergate which means straighten your body if as proud, but I think the song is saying "llegate" which means come close, so the verse would read llegate y juntos alabemos (come close and together we will praise) not everything with ye sound is spelled with a Y we have LL which makes a soft ye sound so in this case is bad spelling LOL.
Teynu -means refresh or a refreshing it is incorporated into all Jewish prayers almost. But when used along with Yeshua Teynu it means Jesus our salvation, some Jews say the name Yeshua(jesus) is not foound in the old testament,Boy! they are wrong it is very frequently found

As an interesting side study, a number of other verses also use a cognate of the same word for salvation, in proximity to a name for God. Notable examples include Psalm 65:5; 79:9; 85:4 ("yisheynu"), and Psalm 68:19 ("yeshuah-teynu"). Of the last one mentioned, you might notice that our Messiah"™s name is directly located within the phrase "YESHUAh-teynu"! This is a wonderful discovery when compared to Hebrews 5:8-9, "Although he was a son, he learned obedience from what he suffered and, once made perfect, he became the source of eternal salvation for all who obey him."
