Well Mac replied on the "update on Bro. Mac" thread so I think I'll reply on this one.
First of all I would like to thank all of you for your thoughts of concern and prayers. I felt them! I told Mac several times that I could bet you all were praying for us. I wished we had a way to contact you all to let you know that we were okay but our power just barely came on about an hour and a half ago. The telephone lines are sporadic. I was able to make one call out when the worst of the storm passed by but since then it has been touch and go.
The Lord really blessed us through this storm. Several trees fell around our house but none of them fell on the house. We were worried about a big red oak that is outside our dining room window. We watched that thing sway and sway, but thank the Lord that it didn't come down. We were shocked when we were able to cut our way out to the main road. Every 100 feet or so trees were down over power lines and across HWY 57. Our schools were damaged and we were told not to report back till further notice. We lost the contents in our refrigerator and grilled up on some meat! I am thankful though that we were able to get a generator before everything in our freezer was lost. We had been hauling water from different places since we have a water pump and electricity is needed to run that! Gas lines are crazy! We got up and left the house at 6 in the morning to get in a long line at Walmart for gas and waited there for 3 hours only to be told that the gas had run out. We had enough gas though to get to Alabama and so that is where we have been getting the gas for our generator. I think Home Depot kind of gouged us on the price for that generator though, but I heard that FEMA might help reimburse for some of it so if it is true then I am thankful for it. I know that the Lord was with us through it all. First of all, we are alive and well, second of all we still have a roof over our heads, third of all we never went hungry! Also, we were never officially notified whenever water and ice came through but it seemed that when we went on our hunts for gas we always drove by at just the right time to see the distribution lines. In my mind I kept singing over and over that song that says "I'm blessed, and I know that I am because Jesus took control of my life". In this rural area we have different power company than in town and so I know that we have power before many others are getting it. Living without power and water for a week was really nothing compared to what others are facing. After all, not so many years ago people didn't have those convenciences.
Once again, thank you all so much for your prayers. They meant so much. Please don't forget to keep on praying for the others along the Gulf Coast that lost everything.
Liz

The two of you have been very much on my mind since BEFORE the storm hit since I realized you were in that area. When I looked at it on a map . . . . You have been blessed by our great God who made sure our prayers were answered. Praise God from who all blessings flow!

Thanks Snooky, . . .Dave, I appreciate your heeding the burden to pray for my family and myself. I know that many here prayed for us before and during all of this. Liz and myself could both sense a hedge prayed around us.
