Essential=needed to make a thing what it is; necessary; very important.
Unessential=not needed; not necessary; of no importance.
II Tim 3:16 ALL scripture is given by inspiration of God and is profitable for doctrine, for reprof; for correction, for instruction in righteousness.
Matt 4:4 But he answered and said, it is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by EVERY WORD that proceedeth out of the mouth od God.
James 2:10 For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in ONE POINT, he is guilty of all.
Psalms 119:11 Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.
Psalms 119:105 Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.
Psalms 36:9 In thy light shall we see light
Rev 20:12 And the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books
John 12: 48 The word that I have spoken, the sameshall judge him in the last day.
Where did God ever give members in the church the right or privilege to decree any portion of his word to be of lesser importance than another portion? Many cannot reconcile the Old Testament with the New Testament, so it is deemed as irrelevant to New Testament believers. Some teach that baptism, The New Birth, the Godhead, ect. are not essentials, yet they are plainly taught in the Holy Word of God. Because one has a different view, does that make then not important any longer? Did God run out of nessary and essential things before he finished the bible and just fill pages with meaningless trivia? Could it be that when we are confronted with scripture that we have had problems excepting in our lives, "non essential" is a handy excape hatch? If any portion of the word isn't essential, why don't we just remove it from the Bible and then the confusion would not arise because of that portion?
Come on guy's!! God is not the aurthor of confusion! Heaven and Earth shall pass away, but my word shall not pass away. God said what he meant, and meant what he has said. We are to live by EVERY word. There isn't one passage in Gods perfect word that is not absolutely nessary for our perfection today.
"God said it, I believe it, that settles it", right? WRONG! Let's get it right, "God said it, that settles it". Whether we believe it or not makes no difference at all. It is forever settled in Heaven, with or without your approval.
We are told to "rightly devide the word of truth". We are to conform to the word of God. It (the word)isn't to be altered to fit our situation. We are not to add to, or take away from, to make it fit our man made doctrine. Isn't that exactly what is done when we set aside a portion of scripture as "not essential"
Stand ye in the way and see, and ask for the old paths wherein is the good ways, but they said; we will not walk therein.
Isaiah 28 :9 Whom shall he teach knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand doctrine? them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts. V 10 For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little: V 11 For with stammering lips and another tongue will he speak to this people. V 12 To whom he said, This is the rest wherewith ye may cause the weary to rest; and this is the refreshing: yet they would not hear. V13 But the word of the Lord was unto them precept upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little; that they might go, and fall backward, and be broken, and snared, and taken.
Yes bro.Snooky, I always try to support my Posts with scripture.
There are some that take Bible Scripture as Essential and Unessential.
You either accept the Bibleas the Word or you accept it as your own
personal book. Espesially versions that have been retranslated many times
and leave out many verses and have changed meanings of the Word of
God. These books are Counterfeit Bibles.

Bro Reb; You are so right about the different versions of the bible. I use the King James as I think it to be as close to the original as any that we have today. Some say that the Spanish translation of the KJV is even better as the language loses less in its translation. My library today consist of my bible and a dictionary, nothing else. As you know, all that I post is my thoughts, I don't cut, copy, paste on here. Not that these things or other aids or not profitable but I feel comfortable in stating what I know. I can defend what I know, what I have seen, and what I have spoken, but whatever works for the spreading of the gospel, I am in favor of that.
