Default BUT THIS IS A SOVEREIGN REMEDY

But This Is A Sovereign Remedy

"We have no might against this great company, none without Thee, none that we can expect any thing from without Thy special presence and blessing, none to boast of, none to trust to, but our eyes are upon Thee. We rely upon Thee, and from Thee is all our expectation. The disease seems desperate: we know not what to do, are quite at a loss, in a great strait. But this is a sovereign remedy, our eyes are upon Thee, an eye of acknowledgement and humble submission, an eye of faith and entire dependence, an eye of desire and hearty prayer, an eye of hope and patient expectation. In Thee, O God! do we put our trust; our souls wait on Thee." - Matthew Henry Commentary

Do you feel as though you have no might against the forces of evil which are set against you, your family, ministry, church, community, or nation?
Are things very desperate at this time - where you simply do not know what to do - being at a loss and facing many difficulties?

Read how others responded when they were found in similar situations -

Psalm 121:1-2 says - "I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth."
Psalm 123:1-2 says - "Unto Thee lift I up mine eyes, O Thou that dwellest in the heavens. Behold, as the eyes of servants look unto the hand of their masters, and as the eyes of a maiden unto the hand of her mistress, so our eyes wait upon the LORD our God, until that He have mercy upon us."
Jonah 2:4 says - "Then I said, I am cast out of Thy sight; yet I will look again toward Thy holy temple."
Psalm 25:15 adds - "Mine eyes are ever toward the LORD; for He shall pluck my feet out of the net."

Did you notice the emphasis in each of the above Scriptures?

It was most definitely the focus of the supplicant.
Each had their "eyes" away from themselves, their problems, and onto God.

Believe it or not! That is where our victory lies! That is the sovereign remedy for every ill that mankind will ever face!

No matter what you are encountering today - your answer lies in your focus.
If you are concentrating on yourself and your dilemma, then you will not get your breakthrough. You will most likely mess up somehow.
However, if you turn your attention away from yourself and your troubles and fasten it on God - your one and only source of aid, comfort, salvation, healing, and deliverance - then you will receive the help that you so desperately need and desire.

"I will lift up mine eyes..."
"...Our eyes wait upon the LORD our God, until that He have mercy upon us."
"...yet I will look again toward Thy holy temple."
"Mine eyes are ever toward the LORD..."

There must be a holy resolve to do this. You cannot be complacent, nonchalant,or lazy about it. You must be determined that you will look to no other for help and that - at no time or occasion - will you allow Satan to distract you with his counterfeit solutions. You will keep your focus on God and God alone - until you receive your answer.

In Psalm 141:8, David said - "But mine eyes are unto Thee, O God the Lord: in Thee is my trust; leave not my soul destitute."

He did not allow himself to become self-absorbed in his difficulties or to become fearful at the advantages of his enemies. He did not shut his eyes in indifference or despair at his adverse circumstances. Instead, he kept them steadily fixed on God. And this is what kept him.

At all times...in all places...and on all occasions - he was determined to look solely to God...to rely on Him alone...and to confidently and without reservation trust in Him. No matter how bad things got - he would not take his eyes off of the Lord - his refuge and strength.

Resultantly, the assistance and relief that he desperately needed came. His life was spared, and his enemies defeated.

In Psalm 145:15, David added - "The eyes of all wait upon Thee; and Thou givest them their meat in due season."

In this Scripture, God is represented as a universal Father who provides food for all creatures - on land, in air, and in water. Every day, hour, and moment - the entire universe looks imploringly and expectantly unto the Lord Almighty for the supply of their needs.

Because their focus is on the all-sufficient Provider, they are not disappointed - for, at the proper time, their every need is met.

In 2 Chronicles 20:12, King Jehoshaphat - in the midst of great trouble - came to this conclusion - "O our God, wilt Thou not judge them? for we have no might against this great company that cometh against us; neither know we what to do: but our eyes are upon Thee."

In this particular verse, we see Judah facing overwhelming odds. A vast army - of Moabites, Ammonites, and others - was attacking from all sides. They had their own well-disciplined army, but they refused to look unto the "arm of the flesh" for deliverance - "...neither know we what to do..." Their total reliance was strictly on God - "...but our eyes are upon Thee."

Because they fixed their eyes solely on the Lord for help, the strategy of deliverance came through the prophet Jahaziel saying - "Tomorrow go ye down against them: behold, they come up by the cliff of Ziz; and ye shall find them at the end of the brook, before the wilderness of Jeruel. Ye shall not need to fight in this battle: set yourselves, stand ye still, and see the salvation of the LORD with you, O Judah and Jerusalem: fear not, nor be dismayed; tomorrow go out against them: for the LORD will be with you"(2 Chronicles 20:16-17)

Notice how quickly the Spirit of the Lord came upon the Prophet with a specific word of instruction and direction after Jehoshaphat declared - "...neither know we what to do: but our eyes are upon Thee."

It works, Saints!
When we finally get our eyes off of ourselves, our own resources, other people, or even what the devil is doing at the time - it is then that God goes into action and things begin to happen.

This is your sovereign remedy.

Are you surrounded by enemies on all sides?
Does it seem as though Satan is closing in on you to ruin you, your family, business, ministry, or church?

Are you facing - a financial crisis at this time? Enormous debts? Urgent needs?
Are you in desperate need of "daily bread" in order to survive?

In the heat of the battle, do you find yourself at your wit's end - not knowing which way to turn or what to do?

Both Kings - David and Jehoshaphat - knew what it was like to be hemmed in by enemy forces - with seemingly no deliverance in sight. And every day, all creation is in need of provision in order to survive.

But, we have seen through God's Holy Word that answers do come to those who learn to fix their eyes exclusively upon the Lord.

Have you learned that lesson yet?
Or are you still looking to yourself and others for answers?
Could it be that you have been standing in the way of your own Miracle because your focus has been off?

"But mine eyes are unto Thee, O God the Lord..."

Why don't you take the time right now and repent - if need be - before the Lord for neglecting Him as your only source of help or provision?

From this day forward, determine that you will fix your "eyes" solely upon Him.
Then stand back and watch your Miracle take place.

May God Bless His Word.
