Default Reading 1 Corinthians 11-14

Wonder why most churches don't encourage women to cover their heads while public praying? Also, really helped me form my opinion on Speaking of tougues. Excellent reading. Man, its hard to believe. I look so forward to studying the bible these days.

In churches back in the olden days women in the Methodist use to cover their heads. My wife used to while prayig.I wished she hadn't stopped. I love seeing people read the word and then acting on it.

Bigcountry it also states flat out that women should not speak in church at all........ I started a thread a while ago on this, had a lot of folks who said they followed the Bible to a tee thinking real hard.

Yea, these chapters are bothering me a bit. It says it, I believe it, but just am taking a hard look at this church I am going too. Why do they sidestep a few of these rules? Or pass them by? Most churches do. I rarely see one that address's some of these scriptures.

I am thinking of officially joining this church next week. So I am looking hard.

One of the things you do need to understand. When the New Testament was being written, there were still a lot of the Jewishtraditions that were carried into the new testament church.

I am not saying those things are not for today, but we need to understand in some of the early churches, they were stillpracticing blood sacrifices. The New Testament writers admonished many of them for even praying to idols. So some of the old tradition was carried into the New Testament.

What we do not want to do, is choke on the seed, while swallowing the fruit. In other words, those things ought not be a stubling block for us believers. There are going to be things some churches still practice today, while others do not. They certainly are not an obsticle blocking us from God and all His blessing for you.
