Ifferd,
I do believe God has ordained the law givers and executioners according to Romans 13 I believe. { I'm at school} I did try to get a job with the police and sheriffs department. I was turned down for my studdering problem. If I had to shoot.I would hav eshot someone. Even now, If someone bigger than me LOL breaks into my home and is a threat I will shoot them. I will not sit down and watch someone abuse my family. They are in great trouble. oo buck will be in their chest.

Ifferd, I agree with scripture and what the Bible says about killing,
but this world is so corrupted that our counties, cities and states can
not hold anymore criminals.
I am retierd from the detention department here in Tampa,Fl. where we
have three jails with over 7,000 inmates, not counting the over 70 state
prisons, over 150 county jails and don't know how many city jails.
Have you any idea ofthe rights of prisoners today and medical benifits?
It cost's this state alone, about 12million to 15million dollarsa year to
keep these prisoners.
It's all about Human Rights Activist that think it's inhumane to treat them
otherwise. I have heard pepole say:"Think if a man has a terminal sickness,
it's better for him to be in prison than have Hospitals and Doctors take everything thierfamilies have.Let the citizens of that statepay for it no matter the cost!
I believe it should Notbe this way. Fl. has done away with the chain gang,
cause it's inhumane.Wow! how about all the children they have molested, all
the women they raped, all the homes and businesses they robbed, all the children they
have poisoned with drugs, thousands they have murdered? And todays
Human Activist think it's inhumane to punish them and make it hard for them? WRONG!!!

Bro.Renfro, suicide is a sin,

Jesus taught that death and destruction are the work of "the thief" (Satan). He said, "The thief comes only to steal and destroy;" (John 10:10). John 8:44 says that Satan is a "murderer" and the "father of lies". The feelings of despair that lead to suicide are caused by some of his lies.
As we look at this most sensitive subject that exposes our most intimate thoughts and feelings, we realize that the subject of suicide affects those who do not profess to know Christ as Savior and many believers as well.
Although the word suicide is never used in the Bible, there are several direct references to people killing themselves, and by definition, that is suicide. In
1 Kings 16:18, there is reference to Zimri, who reigned for a few days over Israel and then died in a fire that he started in his home. He was about to be overthrown and could not cope with defeat. Abimelech, the son of Jerubbaal, committed assisted suicide (Judges 9:53-54) rather than have it said that he died at the hands of a woman. Saul fell on his sword after losing a battle against the Philistines. When his armorbearer saw that Saul had killed himself, he followed in like manner (1 Samuel 31:4-5; 1 Chronicles 10:4-5). When he stopped allowing God to direct his life, Samson lost his unbelievable strength and suffered humiliation at the hands of the Philistines. Unable to tolerate the ridicule and the reality of his failure, in one final act of strength, Samson pulled the pillars down on himself and thousands of his captors (Judges 16:25-30).

Exodus 21:12 He that smiteth a man, so that he die, shall be surely put to death.

God was very specific about a person taking anothers life. I believe the verses in question, Jesus was speaking directly to us as a whole. We are not to judge, we are to forgive, however the law must be carried out by the courts, and we are to follow the law of the land.
In this great country we have the option of changing laws by the power of the vote.

(I also like brother Renfrowridge would not hesitate defending my family, at any cost)

Iffered, I think that verse is concerning our treatment of those who have wronged us, but not lawful punishment. To take it as you are saying, it would mean that we should reward those who do evil, and not punish them at all.

Carrying out lawful punishment, even capital punishment, is not evil. We should not commit murder, and an execution is not murder. Murder is the taking of an innocent life. Christ plaited a whip and drove the theives and money changers from the temple.

I don't have scripture to back my opinion off the top of my head, but I have studied it in the past and I believe that God does not condemn capital punishment in the New Testament.

guys i'm on the fence on this one, i believe if the person was harming a member of my family or a defenseless child or elderly person, i could do whats required, as far as pulling the switch, i'm not sure i could handle the aftermath, i hope the person that is in that position is not burdened by the job, i'm just not sure i could do it[&o]
