Acts2:41,42
[41] Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls.
[42] And they continued stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.
Acts20:7
[7] And upon the first day of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread, Paul preached unto them, ready to depart on the morrow; and continued his speech until midnight.
1Cor.16 [1] Now concerning the collection for the saints, as I have given order to the churches of Galatia, even so do ye.
[2] Upon the first day of the week let every one of you lay by him in store, as God hath prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I come.
Acts 2:41-42. This Scripture tells us that that the early church in Jerusalem of 3000 people who received the message that was preached to them by Peter and the Apostles continued to do four things. They continued learning the teaching of the Apostles. They continued to share and fellowship together. They continued to eat the Lord's Supper together. And they prayed together. This was what the early church did when they met together. Acts 20:7. This Scripture tells us that on the first day of the week (Sunday) the believers met together for the breaking of bread (Lord's Supper). This should be our practice today. 1 Corinthians 16:1-2. This Scripture tells us that Paul instructed the Christians at Corinth to bring their offerings on "the first day of the week" (Sunday). This seemed to be the custom of the early church, to meet together on Sunday for their worship.
