The Holy Ghost.

I would like to hear different folks beleifs on what the Holy Ghost is. I get off work in a few hours so please do not be upset if I do not reply until tommorrow. (Yes, I have to work Saturday!) I will post up scripture refering to the Holy Ghost for a while, and if I see replies before I leave I will try and respond.

Bro.Taz, I believe in the three manifistations of God.

1. He manifested Himself in the: Creation
2.Thru the Son in: Incarnation
3.And thru the: Holy Ghost
Deut.6:4,5
[4] Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD:
[5] And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might
Gal.3:20
[20] Now a mediator is not a mediator of one, but God is one.
John 10:30
[30] I and my Father are one.
Col.2:9
[9] For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.

Are theseverses wrong and yours is right or is mine right and yours is wrong?

Just for a little additional info on the Comforter I refered to Strongs, the Greek word is parakletos and the meaning is

1) summoned, called to one's side, esp. called to one's aid
a) one who pleads another's cause before a judge, a pleader, counsel for defense, legal assistant, an advocate
b) one who pleads another's cause with one, an intercessor
1) of Christ in his exaltation at God's right hand, pleading with God the Father for the pardon of our sins
c) in the widest sense, a helper, succourer, aider, assistant
1) of the Holy Spirit destined to take the place of Christ with the apostles (after his ascension to the Father), to lead them to a deeper knowledge of the gospel truth, and give them divine strength needed to enable them to undergo trials and persecutions on behalf of the divine kingdom

Wherefore I give you to understand, that no man speaking by the Spirit of God calleth Jesus accursed: and that no man can say that Jesus is the Lord, but by the Holy Ghost.

According to Strongs the Greek word for Spirit is pneuma and the definition is

1) the third person of the triune God, the Holy Spirit, coequal, coeternal with the Father and the Son
a) sometimes referred to in a way which emphasises his personality and character (the "Holy" Spirit)
b) sometimes referred to in a way which emphasises his work and power (the Spirit of "Truth")
c) never referred to as a depersonalised force

a) the rational spirit, the power by which the human being feels, thinks, decides
b) the soul
3) a spirit, i.e. a simple essence, devoid of all or at least all grosser matter, and possessed of the power of knowing, desiring, deciding, and acting

c) a spirit higher than man but lower than God, i.e. an angel

Once again using Strongs the greek word for Holy is hagios and the definition is

1) most holy thing, a saint

The grrek word for Ghost is the same as the greek word for Spirit.

Is this verse wrong and yours is right or is mine right and yours is wrong?

Brother Hog, I will not judge you or I to be right or wrong, suffice it to say that I beleive the Holy Ghost is the third person of the triune God, the Holy Spirit, coequal, coeternal with the Father and the Son.
