Default Do You Always Obey God's Voice.

Since we have had a discussion on, Can we hear God's voice today. I would like to ask ( only us nuts that do hear His voice), do you always obey?

I remember back in the early 70's while working in a mall, I saw a lady pushing her son in a wheelchair. I heard God's voice tell me to go and lay hands on the boy and pray for his healing... I did not do it. I kept arguing with God, "What if he doesn't get healed, I will look like a fool."
I ran away and cried like a baby, because I didn't do what God asked me to. God didn't tell me to heal him, that was His job, he just asked me to pray for him. I wonder today if God was testing my faith to see how I would respond to such a task. I also wonder if that boy is still in that wheelchair...

Please do not respond if you are not hearing His voice. We already know how you feel. I say this in love, not trying to start another arguement.

Rev,
You know the answer to that one brother. No, even though He has proved Himself so many times I come up short. I could boast of the times I did obey but I won't . Our secret sins remind us of how human we really are. Rather brother we might want to talk of how He is leading now. For me my mountain is my gut. I know everyday howI should eat, but I don't. Also, I know how God wants me to treat my wife, I don't always pass that test. I know I shouldn't provoke my children I fail there too. Obviously..I need prayer. I am making progress in those areas but honestly ..they still need work. I have no excuse.
Brother Chuck

It would be easier for me to tell you the times I obeyed than all the times I have not. Forgive me Christ.

Rev,
I do find it easier to obey now than what it was a few years ago. After a while we wake up to the fact that His way is truly the best way. One time I remember struggling with obedience. I was driving north from Florida to MD. My rowdy brother in law and sister wnted me stop by in NC I had seeen himget drunk and beat my sister badly many times. I was a little a scared of him and what might happen in front of my little ones. As we drove 1/2 way through N Carolina I had already explained to God why it wouldn't be a good idea although they were expecting us. On the way there we were playing these Christian tapes. Then one of the songs came up and echoed in my Spirit. I felt faith come a live with love as I heard these words sung." Love will find a way." The peace of Jesus seemed to put the turn signal on in the right direction. All went well.
"His yoke is easy and HIs burden is light."

I havn't always obeyed the voice of the Lord since I have become a christian. But oh what a miserable feeling when I havn't. Makes you feel that you would have to jump up to touch a snakes belly.

Ungodly as it is Chuck, a baseball bat works real good on a man that likes to beat women. Sorry and forgive me but that burns me up.[:@]

Can a Christian really be perfect this side of heaven? Of course not, but Jesus Himself nevertheless commands His people, "You are to be perfect, as your heavenly father is perfect." These words offer quite a contrast to the cries of our secular society, which has lost its moral compass and any sense of absolute truth, duping us into thinking that being a tad better than the world somehow makes us acceptable to God.

BE CAREFUL WHO YOU HEAR - I John 4:1
The aged apostle John warned his beloved children in the faith to "believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world" (I John 4:1). Not every teacher who claims to speak in the name of Jesus is true to the faith. Paul pointed out that some religious leaders are in fact "false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ" (ll Corinthians 11:13). How tragic it is that so many sincere, yet gullible, religious people willingly follow after blind leaders, not realizing their destiny is only a ditch (cf. Matthew 15:14).

As Moses says in Deuteronomy 30:14-15. "But the word is very nigh unto thee, in thy mouth, and in thy heart, that thou mayest do it. See, I have set before thee this day life and good, and death and evil." My friend, how much do you want to know Jesus? Are you like some people, who call themselves Christians, and yet still are waiting to be told what to do in their lives in order to please Jesus? Are you like these people, who even though they read the Bible, will still not move until God speaks to them literally?
