Well, for over two decades, since I was a kid, I prayed that Jesus would forgive me my sins and come in my life. But, I made deals with him before I gave over my life. Like, show me a sign, or talk to me. Guess you guys know, that doesn't play well. So I held on to my will, and did it my way. I always knew he was there. But I was a bad friend. I figured I would have time one day. I was so lucky.
So I had the tiger by the tail, in 2001. Had money coming out my ears. Well over 5 million in stock options. Never cashed them cause I was greedy. My career was taking off. Getting promoted every year. Had nice motorcycles, cars, houses. My will was doing just fine. In 2002, my wife left me. It hurt my pride, and hurt me. Ok, no problem, still got money, still got toys. The telecomm stock market dropped like a hammer. No problem, still got a job, still feel good. My company I helped build went from 120 people in 1996, to 5000 people in 2002, to 1800 people in mid 2002. Ok, barely hangin on my job, but my will is working. 2003, Started feeling so sick, and found out I had developed bad diabetes out of nowhere, lost 30 lbs in no time, lost alot of hair. Ok, at this time I was a wreck. Then my liver started going heywire around Christmas 2004. I had alot of tattoos, so I was scared I had hep C. Girlfriend left me, and worried more about my health. Around Easter, I prayed in a little church in Eastern Ky. I prayed for peace. I prayed to give in an finally commit myself. I broke down in church and something came over me. No deals with Jesus, just I give my life to you.
Well, my liver healed from years of abuse. No hep C or any diseases beside very fatty liver. Getting it under control. Wieght and diabetes still nutty. But working on it. Girl came back, and we might get married. Quit losing my hair. And I love God. Here I am 4 months later. Life is good.
My testimony. My testimony like yours probably has a lot of details. I must have given my heart to Jesus 5 times before the age of 22 but I will only talk about the day he revealed himself to me. And this is a month past the day I saw Him in a vision.
Here it goes. Me and about 4 other soldiers drove way out in the swamps of Georgia. The roads were tank trails. I just like getting by myself with a 12 pack and go hunting or fishing. I was always a loner. These boys had some kind of stuff made up that was a little more powerful than any alcohol. The last time I went joy riding with someone loaded I lost my 3 front teeth and vowed I would never get in the car again with someone loaded. Well"¦we were all loaded. The soldiers said yeee haaa it"™s time to drive back to the fort. And Moose ..that little voice in my mind said if you get in that car you will die. I said fellows..I think I will walk. I had no idea where I was at .They tried in vain to talk me out of it but I didn"™t want to die. All I had on was denim shorts , a pack of Marlboro and a pack of matches. I was barefoot. I walked about 50 yds and felt the presense of evil. Something those boys brewed up was not very funny. I was scared to death. I fell on my face and begged God to help me. HEAR IT IS MOOSE THE BEGINNING OF HEARING HIS VOICE. I spoke softly and said.."ť Why do you get yourself in these situations and then call on God."ť I noticed when I spoke soft like that I had some peace. I then felt in my heart. "ś Follow and do what ever your inner voice tells yo and SEE what happens."ť I thought block out every other thought and run like a 12 point buck. At that point I got up and ran. I ran down the asphalt road all day long until evening. As I ran he was leading me back to the town closest to the fort. Finally the garbage wore off. I didn"™t need Christ anymore. I knew exactly where I was at. THEN 3 dudes wanted to pick a fight with me. In my heart I said what do I do now. I looked across the road and there was a Methodist Church. It was a Sat. I ran across the street and hung unto the large pillar. Then Satan really started messing with my head. When he took a breath to shut up I felt the Lord tell me to go inside. I opened the 2 doors. AND fell to my knees saying. "ś If I knew you were this close and personal I would have come to you along time ago. THEN Satan brought up all the reasons why God could never forgive me. And every rotten sin that came before my mind left. There were no windows or doors opened and I felt a nice breeze blow through. I felt brand new. The minister heard someone was the church and came. He talked to me and drove me to the fort. The soldiers laughed and said we will see if you are still saved tomorrow. Thirty years later"¦I am still saved. Fourteen months later I ws chosen to be part of the White house Honor Guard under President Carter.

Ok I have been ask a couple of times about this so here we go
In 1974 I was a member of a gang and was shot twice once in the leg and once in the chest they did not exspeck me to live but I had a 87 year old granny that prayed everyday for me andwhen granny prayed God listen after 6 mo. in the hos. she came by and said get dress you are going to church I told her noway well you all have granny and you know that did not go over to well I went to church.
Well at that time I was a real dope head was sitting there in church high as can be and had a gun in my pocket I was somthing that had crawl out from under a rock. I was sitting there haft listen when a peace came over me that I had never know and at that monment I was totaly straight no high from the drugs I gave my live to God that day and it has been a great ride ever since.
In 1976 I went to Judson college and from there O.R.U I left there cause God sent me somwhere else, I have been bless more than you can ever know!! In 1998 I had a car wreck and broke my neck in two places an was in a wheelchair for 6 mo.and could not walk but with the doctors helpand a lot of prayer from a hole lot of people for God to make me well ,I can walk now, I had to retire from work but thats o.k. I am just waiting for what he has for me next it has been a GREAT ride with God as my co-pilot.
A lot of you will read this and think how can you stand for God with all that has happen to you, every time he has knott me down and slap me upside the head and said what are you doing there was somthing that God wanted me to learn and I am stronger for it.

I can remember the hour that I first believed . . .this summer was forty yrs ago. But man, I have done some slipping. I would have to say that I was not in right standing for 25 of those forty. There were a many a slip between the cup and the lip.

I was raised in a Christian home, but I wasn't compliant and I stopped going to church as soon as I moved away from home. I finally started going back to Church when my wife (who was a strong Christian) wanted desperately for me to be the spiritual leader of our family. I knew all the right things since I had been in church for over 20 years, so I begrudgingly started going with her to church again.
After a few years of this, I told her I was tired of going and would be much more comfortable sleeping in my bed than sleeping in a pew during the service. She asked me if I was worried about my eternity and I told her that I was fine since I believed in God and in Jesus. Then she quoted the verse in James that says that even the demons know about God . . . and they tremble. THAT got my attention!
I went to see our pastor that Friday. He led me to the Lord and I got him started in bowhunting. We became great friends and hunting partners. That was 20 years ago and I've had several episodes in the interim where I've not been very close with The Lord. The fellowship on here has been instrumental in helping to encourage me and I don't skip church anymore either.
