I will shorten your question. Why don"t Pentecostalswho speak in tongues not handle snakes ? I said I would answer this honestly.
This has to be an opinion answer ,but I will answer it to the best of my ability . We would consider this tempting God. I checked this verse out and all agree that handling snakes would be tempting God. Satan tried that with Jesus by quoting Psalm 91 ." If you throw yourself down from the pinnacle of the temple .God 's word says," He will rescue you so you won"t even bump your foot on a stone." In summary"Christians don"t handle snakes because we are "Not to put the Lord thy God to the test."
You may say well,they speak in tongues because they are the easiest to fake. Moose ; they speak in tongues in either of two different ways.
1. A genuine experience of God over takes them and the Lord really does cause them to speak in tongues. I believe this is a rare occasion. Very rare; but it happens.
2. What you see mostly in churches are Christians in FAITH yielding themselves and are lost in his love. They inFAITH pray syllables. Key word"in Faith. I don"t see where they are hurting anyone. If it bothers someone"don"t go to their service. I believe it is praying in the spirit. Jude1:20 But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost,
Since it only edifys the one praying and since it can be controlled I believe it should be done in the privacy of yourprayer closet.

Chuck now I know you are a great guy! You are a man that loves others and God. However you are not God and I'm not saying you said you were. The point is You didn't use any of Gods word to refute the question. You said "This has to be an opinion answer " well I don't want your opinion I want Gods Word! Answer the question with the Word. We will not be Judged by chuck's words or any other mans words,John 12:48 says, He who rejects Me, and does not receive My words, has that which judges him"the word that I have spoken will judge him in the last day.

Why? It says "these signs will follow those who believe" if you believe shouldn't you be able to do all of the signs? Yes,at the time these signs were used to teach those lost all these were used! Moose, I am not going to argue like Chuck said, I just have one Scripture to quote. 1st Cor. 39 Threfore, brethren desire earnestly to prophesy, and do not forbid to speak with tongues...
If tongues died out with the Apostles, so did healings, propheys, the word of knowledge, word of wisdom, working of miracles discerning of spirits.... and What about Salvation? We can just throw out that page we do not agree with, pretty soon we would wind up with the first and the last page. Don't be like the Mormons that say, it's how you interpret that Scripture

Sure, I have a friend of mine that died as well, he went to hell,Jesus cameand led him by the handinto heaven, he speaks in tongues more than all of us.....This I know is true... He still has the scars on his hands where the electricity hit him, he still has the scars on his feet where it came out and blew off his laced boots. 25,000volts from a primary highline. Hewasdead for over tweny minutes... He wasn't saved when this happened, he's now a Pentecostal. But wait! Most people wouldn't believe that either... I am finished with this conversation,it's getting no where... I know what I do is right, and I don't have to answser to anyone butmy Lord...You have your convictions, and so do I. Tongues are not going to get anyone into heaven, just make you feel like you are there while you are caught up in the Spirit.

thats good I don't want to argue either! However "that which is perfect" has come. You guys are saying we have both signs/miracles and the perfect word of God. We don't have both! We have the Bible now, we don't need those signs anymore to teach those lost.1 Cor 13:8-10 says,Love never fails. But whether there are prophecies, they will fail; whether there are tongues, they will cease; whether there is knowledge, it will vanish away. 9 For we know in part and we prophesy in part. 10 But when that which is perfect has come, then that which is in part will be done away. the knowledge here ismiraculous knowledge, we know we have knowledge today this means like the Apostles not having to study to persent a lesson we know God doesn't tell preachers what to say yettheyare guided through the Bible the perfect word of God that has come.

Yes, this is the common lame excuse. Whatever, it is a guarantee and you should not test it? Well then why is it written in his holy book and attributed to none other than Jesus? As a joke? Moreover, it wouldn"t be faith anymore.
